Raven's World-50

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"You think a situation is either good or bad. You give it a label. Depending on your particular perspective. But the situation itself is neutral. We (your animal friends and companions) are here to remind you that everything is love. You can choose to find the love in both the 'good' and the 'bad' for it is always present."

Are you sure?

I have to give a lot of credit to those of you who are single parents. I know there are so many times I am grateful to have the balance of my other half. He is able to see our boys as they are much more than I can. He knows what our 19 and 18 year old young men are about and are capable of. I, on the other hand, have to admit that sometimes in my heart they are still 5 and 6. So, when hubby says to me, the boys are gonna be in their own plow truck for this past snow storm, I look at him and say, "Really, are you sure?" It's the same reaction I gave back when they first got thrown in the water behind the boat with a pair of skis on their little feet. "Are you sure?" I asked hubby. When we taught them to drive, when they brought home their first girlfriend. "Are you sure they're ready for this?" And hubby just nods, "it'll be fine." And the plowing was no different. They ended up doing a phenomenal job without mishap. I will admit to 'cheating' in the middle of the night by asking the angels to show them to me. And I saw a bright white light surrounding them so I knew they were fine. And then I could go back to sleep. So that is my advice, as long as your reservations aren't based on anything 'real', you just gotta trust 'um!

"The Flower Speaks"

"The Flower Speaks" is an oracle card deck that incorporates the energy and essences of the flowers, tarot, the beauty and power of nature, Native American shamanism, the divine feminine and astrology in a way that can't help but touch you. The images draw you in and speak to you. If you also have the larger companion book, the language and the poetry within resonate to a deep soul level. I have been using this deck for myself and my clients for quite some time. There is no other work like it and it was part of the inspiration behind my own working and creation of flower essences. Marlene L'Abbe' (formerly Rudginsky) is the author and artist who created "The Flower Speaks" and I am so pleased and excited to announce that she will be my guest tomorrow evening on Discovering Nature's Spirit (7-8 pm EST) on blogtalkradio.com. She will be discussing the oracle deck, flower essences, her work as an artist of 30 years and also clearing entities as she is an intuitive reader as well. It's a show not to miss (archives are available as always).

Raven's World-49

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Management. Many of you are just managing your lives. You manage your kids, your spouse, your job, your stress... We (your animal friends and companions) are here to show you there is another way. Life is meant to be enjoyed. Not just managed. BE there for your kids. BE there for your spouse. You have to practice putting everything else aside in your mind. Whatever you have on your to DO list. Let it go. And just BE. BE with yourself. BE in the moment. BE with your family, friends... Joy will follow. Once you open this door."

Time & holidays

With the holidays in the mix, the time is really moving for me lately. This year in particular has just booked by. Which in retrospect is not such a bad thing, since it had quite a few challenges. Work has been busy for which I am always grateful. I want to send a shout out of gratitude to Jess who was our guest on last night's show. I just love to share energy and read with her! We discussed the upcoming holidays and all that they entail from a medium's perspective. Love!!! Well, that's the crux of the matter. Speaking of love we shared a wonderful Saturday night with our family together trimming the tree and feasting on a pot of spaghetti and meatballs. Then Sunday it was a holiday dinner out with friends. While I'm on the topic of the holidays I always wonder why we can't all get along. I watched a story on the news where one of our town schools is banning xmas decorations. I thought wouldn't it be cool if we decorated for all faiths side by side. Remember the large bulletin boards in our elementary schools. We could have xmas next to Hanuka, next to Kwanzaa. And then they were worried about the Jehovah's so they could have a space next in line with their words explaining why they don't celebrate. Making sure that they cover the beliefs of every student in the class. Think of the sharing and acceptance that would foster.

Raven's World-48

Here are Raven's thoughts today:
"Illusion can be a powerful force. A mask to what is real if you let it. If you keep yourself separate from the source within you. Then you begin to believe the fear, the judgments...you stay stuck in the anger and the resentments. Look to us (your animal friends and companions) to guide you. For we never get caught up in those illusions. We are our source connection. In body. Always. As are you!"

Anniversary

This past week has been a whirlwind of activity. Blessedly so. So I shouldn't be surprised when I almost missed my own anniversary. If it wasn't for the beautiful women at yesterday's Reiki I training who asked me about the opening of The Purple Rose, I may not have remembered that yesterday was in fact the Purple Rose's eighth anniversary!! It has been a journey of learning, laughter, tears, giving, receiving and oh so many blessings. I'm most grateful for all of you and all of your support!
Join our celebration tonight on Discovering Nature's Spirit radio show (7-8 pm EST) as we bring back the topic of the Empath. Our sensitive friends caused quite a wonderful stir the first time we discussed it so lets delve even further into what it all means. Readings for callers, too, at 718-664-6906!

Healing tonight!

Thank you to our friends both human and canine who joined hubby and me in our walk through the woods yesterday (and dinner afterward). And a big thank you to mother nature who gave us such a beautiful day. As I hear the rain pouring outside today, I think I'll take some advice from my feline wise ones who have only gone out as far as the front porch today...and stay inside!
Tonight on Discovering Nature's Spirit radio show, we feature special guest, Michelle McCarthy, the owner of The Heart to Heart Healing Connection in Agawam, MA. Michelle will be discussing a variety of healing topics including Reiki, IET and the biomat! Show is from 7-8:00 pm. Call in number is 718-664-6906.

Felidae update

Back in August I sang the praises of a cat food called Felidae. (old felidae post) It had succeeded in keeping my cat, Midnight, free from uninary track infections. Recently we added their wet food to the dry food and bam! He got another infection. Somehow we were doing alright with just the dry which is ironic because the moisture is supposed to be better for him. So back to our vet prescribed Royal Canin Urinary SO for felines it is. What else can we do?!

Raven's World-46

Here's the answer to the question from last week's comments: Jette says that he is happy. He presents with floppy ears and lots of energy. He shows me he's chasing bunnies now and having fun. He wants you to remember to keep your thoughts positive! He says that the other animals are okay because they still interact with him. Sometimes they bring Jette's energy through to you.
Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Gratitude is one of the highest vibrations to hold. Find it. Celebrate it. And watch your dreams come true!"

Not our children?...

Quite some time ago I received a message from Spirit that our children are not "our" children. From a spiritual perspective our children do not belong to us. Spirit says that parents are the vessels to bring forth new life to the Earth. That each child has its own soul, divine plan, purpose, and his/her own connection to Spirit from birth to death. Now those of us with children to care for understand that we need to attend to their needs and nurture them. And there are divinely orchestrated reasons why a child is matched up with certain parents. Spirit would like us to encourage the young ones to retain their own independent connection to Spirit and rely on their own guidance system as is appropriate. Lately, this message has been coming back through readings for clients. What can happen is that if a parent goes through or is going through a traumatic or difficult experience emotionally, sometimes the parent relies on the child for support. And sometimes this can become a pattern. And sometimes a child will not move out into the world to explore and share their own divine gifts because of a perceived need to continue to care for the parent. This can cause an imbalance in the energy and difficulty for everyone. Finding a solution at that point is not that easy either. If we look to nature for guidance, we know at some point we need to do the best we can to encourage the young birds to fly free.

A bear, oh my...

Yesterday on my way to work I almost hit a bear. I was driving around a corner and out of the woods comes a very large black bear at a good rate of speed. He (thank the goddess) hesitated when he saw my jeep. Turned and went back into the woods. phew! I noticed he had two tags already adorning his ears so apparently the dep has decided he has been trouble enough. It is not my first bear sighting. We have had them at our home before. We used to have a steel flag pole in the front yard and we hung a bird feeder on it. The bear that day bent the steel to get to the feed. And back when The Purple Rose was in Canton, we had a baby bear show up at the picnic table outside. Even got a pic of little yogi waiting for his picnic basket! Being the aware new ager that I am, when I got back home last night I asked the bear whether there was a message. A female bear stepped forward as if looking for her cubs. She got me wondering if when they relocate these bears whether they make sure they are not separating the mothers from their cubs.

Raven's World-45

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Many of you have heard of the threefold law. What you sow so shall you reap. But for those of you who are sowing well (sharing love, generosity...) you may be wondering why you're not exactly reaping same. There are other factors and laws in play. Some may not be as well known. Timing, divine plans, energy shifts are among the culprits, too. Remember the universe reads your vibration. So clean up your energy, shake off that negativity as we shake water off our coats, shed your old outmoded skin. Ask yourself what do you believe about yourself? That is your best source of power. Are you feeling worthy, forgiving/forgivable, loving/lovable...? Remember that hope is a healer. Allow in that bountiful harvest."

A gift

What a gift yesterday was! Warm and sunny...both together! After working for a bit, hubby, puppies and I went for a walk. There was laughter, fresh air, off leash happiness and even some swimming (puppies, not hubby & me). Raven was so tired she sat down right at the bottom of our driveway as if to say...okay now you all get me up to the house!
We have a great guest on Discovering Nature's Spirit radio show tonight! (7-8 pm EST). John Odlum, LMT, Master Medicinal Aromatherapist, and co-owner of The Essence of Being will be on sharing his knowledge about aromatherapy and the special essences he recommends! You can tune in live or catch all the shows in the archives.

We're only human...

I've had the opportunity to speak to a few different spiritual teachers. All going through their own challenges recently (myself included). This week I received an enewsletter from a very well known spiritual teacher who disclosed her own challenges, too. While I do not wish challenges upon anyone, I find it refreshing that even those among us who hold ourselves out as light workers are being honest. We don't always have the answers. Sometimes all the positive thinking and higher vibrations in the world wont stop life from happening to us. I cringe when it feels to me that a spiritual teacher is holding him/herself above the masses. For we are all one. Each with our own life lessons. I'm reminded of the curriculum of the Reiki Master course that I teach. Where we learn that Master means teacher. So a Reiki Master is simply a teacher of Reiki. Not a 'master' as in ascended to a level above anyone else. And I think once again about the recent passing of such a powerful healer to cancer. And part of me can't help but wonder why. Shouldn't the healer have been able to heal? But we cannot pretend to know the true path of another. And while we all have the capacity to touch spirit. We are still all human.

Wise little ones

This week a spiritual teacher shared this story:

mom: "How was your play date with Jill?"

daughter: "It was very sad, Jill's doll broke."

mom: "Did you help Jill fix her doll, honey?"

daughter: "No mommy, I helped her cry."

Raven's World-44

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Through the eyes of a child. Filled with wonder and hope. Where anything is possible. The sky is the limit. Each of you can choose to look at the world, yourself, your life that way. Don't let fear cloud your view."

Love and money

Over the years offering readings, love and money have been the two most common subjects that everyone wants to know about. Lately, however, I cannot help but notice the pain attached to these topics for so many clients. So many people in transition, in chaos, in places they never expected to find themselves. And yet the Angels are assuring everyone that it's okay. That everything is alright. Many are birthing through to a new better place. But the birth itself tends to be painful. Nurturing yourself back into your own connection with Spirit in whatever form that takes for you is the best way to ease through.

Calling all Empaths!

Yesterday I spent a wonderful day offering readings at a new age fair at Marinelli's in Burlington. It was an amazing community that gathered together. So good to see so many familiar faces and so many new, too. Because I am a sensitive and know myself pretty well at this point in my life, I knew enough to take some time to rest today. There's so much energy flowing through a healing fair like that anyway, plus all the readings I was blessed to do myself. So I pencil that recovery time right into my schedule now. Which leads oh so beautifully into our topic on Discovering Nature's Spirit this evening (7 pm est) which is Empathic Guidance. Empaths or sensitives are sensitive to the energies and emotions around them. Tonight we will discuss how to understand all of that better as well as how to take care of the flow of energy to lead a healthy & intuitive life! Readings for callers, too! (call in #718-664-6906)

An Honor

About a week or so ago, I was guided to dig out an old necklace to wear again. It was a piece that came into The Purple Rose. It has a medicine wheel in its center and an animal for each direction. I took it out of the bottom of my jewelry box where it had been for quite some time and put it on. It tingled and felt right but I had no idea exactly why. Then a couple of days ago I saw a post on facebook that Ted Andrews had passed into the spirit world. I have to admit that I didn't believe it. Today I find an official notice at llewellyn.com. And as I read the memoriam, I notice the date of the passing as the same time I was guided to retrieve the necklace. The necklace had come in with a batch of animal guide necklaces created by Ted Andrews. I think the animal kingdom wanted to honor their friend. I cannot even begin to put into words the effect Ted Andrews and his work has had on my life. He was inspirational to my own journey in so many ways. His bible, Animal Speak, along with the medicine cards I use every day by Sams and Carson, were my gateway to connecting with my animal friends, guides and to my own animal communication gifts. I was fortunate to be able to see him in person not too long ago in Farmington where he taught us all about the fairy world and the magick that lives within each of us. He took us on a journey using Irish brogue that stays with me still. My love to all who he has left behind. Blessed be.

Raven's World-43

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Everyone has a treasure buried deep within. It is the path to your soul. It is your divine essence. It has the answers to your questions, the light in your darkest times. For some it may lie beneath years of debris. Some may be spending time in search of the key. But the only way to find the treasure is through the heart. Only the heart knows the way."

A party!

I have to admit I haven't been to a halloween party in quite some time. But tonight lots of friends and sons, too, are gathering at a friend's for a traditional halloween extravaganza. My friend who is hosting has gotten into the spirit like I have never seen before. Every inch of her house is now decorated. All levels. Spiderwebs, dismembered people, pumpkins, cockroaches, spiders, just to name a few. There are things and people hanging from trees in the yard. But most impressive is a mad scientist lab. Complete with pre-cooked items in jars such as eyeballs, insects, body parts and stuff. The preparation has taken months. The effort huge. There's even going to be an impressive scavenger hunt for all to partake. The menu itself would scare even the strongest among us. I'm bringing her a special gift from my family to show how much we love her and our appreciation of how much she would give of herself so that all of us can have so much fun!

Raven's World-42

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Do you like what you see when you look in the mirror? If you use us (your animal friends and companions) as that mirror you will. For we always reflect true love to you. That is how we see you because we know your truth!"

Rainy Salem

What an amazing weekend. Saturday I sat with a group of beautiful women at The Purple Rose as we all received the first attunement in a series being offer by Pamela Marie Edmunds called Lightarian Reiki. Dinner with wonderful friends after that. Then yesterday hubby, friends and I went on an exciting and wet adventure to Salem, MA. I enjoy spending time there especially at this time of year. And bless our little party because we had a blast even though it was rainy and windy. It actually seemed like it was part of the adventure. And just to add a bit of extra ambiance to our crazy day, we drove back through mass in snow!

Snowy day off

Yesterday was my day off. Between working weekends as a regular course of my business and doing so many different things, my schedule can somehow get the best of me. I discover I haven't given myself a day off. So I saw ahead of time that yesterday was my only chance and made sure I crossed that day right out of my work planner. Right before I awoke to take my car in for a new muffler, I had a dream that there was about 2-3 inches of snow that came and made my hubby (landscaper & plow guy) scramble. Sure enough after my quick morning errands, the snow began to fall. I was blessedly inside with a fire in the wood stove, cuddly puppies, and lots of tea. The photo above is my poor willow tree this morning after a night of mixed precipitation weighing down her still green leaves.

Raven's World-41

Monday evening I was a guest on Pamela Edmunds' "Bridge between Two World's" radio show. Our subject was animals both here and beyond. (archive is available at the link above or at contacttalkradio.com). On the show she asked me to bring through a message from the animals and it's that message that Raven shares here today:
"This is the time to live your dreams. As we move into the winter months begin to dream your dreams again. Gather them close to you and gather resources, too, so that when Spring arrives you can burst them forth into the world. Tune into nature and the energy that the seasons bring to us. You are being called to live in harmony with nature and to bring your dreams into the world. Know and believe that you will be supported by Spirit."

Great 'winter'? day!

I began to notice the hummingbirds disappearing much earlier than usual this year and knew we were in for an early winter. So I harvested the last of the garden last night before the frost was to come. And hubby heard some nonsense about flurries in the forecast for tomorrow. I know that acceptance is really all I can do about what mother nature has in store for us. But I do feel the need to mention that we never really had a nice warm summer that I so crave!
To cheer us up this evening Discovering Nature's Spirit radio show will be hosting special guest, Jay Schwed! He travels the United States to bring us all amazing sound healing vibration performances. He uses crystal bowls and many other modalities! He will be on the show this evening from 7-8:00 pm. And then he will be offering a healing performance tomorrow night at The Purple Rose at 7:30. There is still space available!
After my show tonight, I'm delighted to be a guest on Pamela Edmund's show, Bridge between two Worlds at contacttalkradio.com. Her show airs at 8 and we will be discussing our animal friends on the other side!

Sin?

In all the years I've been studying spirituality and the different practices, I've never been all the comfortable with the definitions of 'sin' that I've heard. But recently I heard a spiritual teacher define sin as 'our refusal to dance with the divine in joy'. I'd rate that one as the best one so far!

Raven's World-40

Here's what Raven would like to share today. Remember she welcomes your questions and will answer them in her next post.
"To eat meat or not to eat meat. Many of you wonder about this question. For some it is okay and for others not so much. But the more pressing matter is how your meat comes to you. We (your animal friends and companions) implore you to encourage the humane treatment of animals by what you purchase and what you choose to consume. Open pasture fed meat is so much healthier for you and for the animals, too. It is the toxins, the chemicals and the non-natural diet in the animal that causes your diseases and cancers when it then ends up in you. And we need to share the most important piece. We are all one. So what you do to the animals reflects what you will still do to each other, too."

Lightarian Reiki

What an amazing weekend! We had a beautiful fair on Saturday. It was so wonderful to all be back together again and welcome in so many new faces, too! Then yesterday, hubby and I ventured up to the Big E and enjoyed a free Seether concert that was awesome! Tonight I'm looking forward to interviewing Pamela Marie Edmunds on Discovering Nature's Spirit. Pamela is an amazing energy healer and psychic medium from Onset, Mass who will be traveling to The Purple Rose beginning on Oct. 17 to offer us a series of Lightarian Reiki trainings. She will be discussing Lightarian Reiki on our show tonight (7 pm est) and she and I will offer mediumship readings for callers! (call in #718-664-6906)

Rain or shine!

I'm honored and excited to sit in community tomorrow with other healers and readers at The Purple Rose Psychic Fair. And I'm also honored to be of service to all of you who may decide to pop by! This time we can offer the fair rain or shine. (or even warm or cold!!) My wonderful landlord offered us extra space up on the second floor of our old mill building in the Tariffville section of Simsbury inside should we decide to be indoors. And if it ends up being comfortable outside we'll all gather along the river behind our building. Either way we will be offering readers who do angel, medium, intuitive, soul purpose, tarot card and spirit guide artistry readings and healers who offer reflexology, aiijii and reiki... We will feature a local artist, Bethany Day, with her beautiful spirit inspired photography, and of course, The Purple Rose will be open so that you may find a special spiritual item if you'd like. Join us between 10-4:00!

Beyond Religion

I have been attending a weekly spiritual group with a friend. I was a bit hesitant at first because it is not my religion. But I trust my friend so I gave it a try. What I'm finding is warming my heart. The same teachings that I find through many different spiritual practices. That of love. That the divine is love. That we have the divine within us and within all nature. Reminding us to breath. To slow down. That what we are searching for when we feel empty is that connection to the divine. All tenets that feel true to me. And I'm reminded how important it is to not allow our particular religious language to separate us.

Raven's World-39

Here's what Raven would like to share today from the animal kingdom:
"Bones! One of my favorite things! But, you want to make friends with them, too. As we move away from the warmth the weather can bring, you want to start including healthy and nourishing stocks and soups into your diet. Whatever you can do to nourish and tone your immune system. In whatever way feels right to you. And take care of your own bones. With all the right nutrients as a regular part of your diet. It is important at this time."

Perfect Afternoon

Yesterday after a very hectic week, our family enjoyed a perfect afternoon. There was a fire in the hearth, apple crisp in the oven (a g.f. version of the one in Clean Food by Terry Walters!), and football was on tv. Now the good news about being a dolphin fan is that for the last few years my expectations have been so low, that I cannot ever be disappointed! Then we proceeded to make two versions of a portabello and pepper red sauce. One had meat and wheat containing pasta for the men and the other had no meat and gf pasta for me. It worked out quite well as we all have some lunches now, too, for this next hectic week ahead!

Raven's World-38

Here is Raven's sharing today:

"You must each find your own way. But you are never truly alone. For the divine walks right beside you. Stepping with you at each footfall. Gently guiding you to a better path for you. If keep your heart open and listen."

Renewed hope

As that which was supposed to be summer begins to fade, and there's threat of a early frost tonight, I cannot help but notice the two new blooms on the butterfly bush. They seem to herald a renewed hope that I cannot quite explain. While the rest of the garden fades to get ready for the colder months ahead. And even this very bush itself had begun its descent into its roots, two bright pink blossoms burst forth against all odds. Perhaps nature reminding us to keep faith strong.

Raven's World-37

Here is what Raven would like to share today:
"Do not forget us! (your animals) We may be in need of healing right now. As our humans move through the major energy shifts, we often hold the space for them. We can also take the hits. So you don't have to. These energetic consequences that you sow and we reap. We absorb much. This is our job. But don't forget to clear us. As you must continue to clear yourself. Under normal conditions we can keep ourselves clear and connected. But during these times of chaos we may need an extra hand. It can be a smudging, Reiki or a prayer... Clearing the space we live in can help, too."

Emotional Freedom

The madness of the past week has finally stopped. Today I find I can enjoy a day off! I watched my men of All Seasons load up some extra mowers this morning as they are covering for another landscaper friend who is taking some time off. (Just as he covered for hubby when we went to Sedona.) I look forward to having a friend over for tea today, only one errand to do (puppy food!), and the show tonight. I'm so excited about tonight's radio show. Gail Altschwager of Ocean Fire Reiki is going to introduce us to a healing technique called Emotional Freedom Technique which involves tapping sequences along the acupressure points. She will even offer 'mini' healings for callers! (call in # 718-664-6906)

Fair postponed

I have been non-stop busy and it'll continue through the beginning of next week. Even without the fair today because it frees me up to enjoy a personal commitment that I would have otherwise arrived late to. So, The Purple Rose Psychic Fair is postponed from today to its rain date which is Saturday, October 3, from 10-4. See you all then!!! Personally, I cannot help but feel that the rain had to come in for yesterday's memorial.

Raven's World-36

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Look around at the summer landscape, energy, and colors. Hold these in your heart. Take some into your home in whatever way you can. As we move soon from the brightness of summer to the darkness of winter, you may need to keep the summer flame burning around you to remind you that you always hold the light within you."

How did that chocolate end up on Shaya?

Last night after my show (thank you to all the many wonderful people that joined me!), I spent some cuddle time on the couch with Raven & Shaya. As I was petting Shaya my hand came away with some chocolate from his fluffy white fur. (Thank the goddess it was only chocolate!...) But it seems that no one in the house is owning the transfer. Now Shaya is pretty crafty, but even he can't get into the fridge, and cut himself a piece of cake!

Gratitude

I'm feeling so grateful this morning! For all I have, for family, friends and work. Last night we had family over for dinner and then enjoyed a bonfire. I was also invited onto "In Touch with Spirit" radio show last night as a guest! Check it out...the archive is available! Thank you Jess!
I'm in awe of all the excitement from facilitators and from clients for our upcoming Purple Rose Psychic Fair Sat., 9/12 from 10-4. I know it'll be a magickal day! And grateful as well for the opportunity to come to you this evening as host of Discovering Nature's Spirit at 7!

Raven's World-35

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"You are here. Always. Now. Wherever you are in this moment, stop. Breathe. In the moment. The power is in this awareness. Don't keep letting the moments pass you by. If you are satisfied in the moment, feel the gratitude so you can create more satisfaction. If you are not satisfied, it is in the awareness of the moment that a shift can begin to take place."

Physical labor?

Yesterday I spent the first half of the day working for/with the men of All Seasons. Hubby needed my help until the rest of the crew were due to arrive later in the day. We finished up this wicked cool waterfall feature you see above. Complete with frogs and fairies, too. (although those we didn't install, they just arrived!) For those of you who know me, I'm not that big on physical labor, but yesterday wasn't all that bad. It was a beautiful day to spend outside, too! Hubby has been singing the praises of our son who works full time for him and I finally got to see son in action. Just as hubby claims, the kid is smart and a really hard worker. He reminds me so much of hubby even complete with hubby-isms coming out his mouth!
Then, the second part of the day I did readings at The Purple Rose for open reading night. It was a full, awesome day. Now for those of you who do not enjoy summer, you may not want to read on...but it was so nippy at our house last night when I got home, that hubby lit a fire for me in the wood stove. ("just a small one", he said.) The dolphins were on the tv, Raven was curled up with me on the couch and a fire burning. A bit of 'fall' a bit too soon!!

Raven's World-34

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"The forest is alive with faces, energy and spirit. Nature exists in perfect balance. Taking one tree disrupts this delicate balance, this harmony of all things. We (your animal friends and companions) implore you to feel this as truth. Every action does have an equal and opposite reaction. What you do individually affects the WHOLE. In more ways than you often allow yourself to see. Begin to speak with nature again. So that your future actions will be more in harmony with the web of all life."

Be careful what you wish for!!!

Summer seems to be so busy. Computer time falls by the way side as there are so many activities that involve fresh air and sunshine. And sons are busy, too. So, I was saying to the universe just the other day, "I'd like to spend more time with sons". Shortly thereafter, one son's car breaks. And shortly thereafter that, other son's car actually catches fire. Thankfully it was a small fire underneath the car that quickly put itself out. Hubby said it had to do with a vacuum leak, oil, the heat and the highway and blah blah (*mechanic speak here*) which he fixed up for son. But son is so freaked, he had his buddy take him to work last night...and low and behold...buddy's car breaks down, too. Not that I think I'm that powerful, but perhaps next time I'm speaking to the universe I'll use many more qualifiers to my requests...such as 'safely', 'conveniently', 'inexpensively' etc. Which reminds me about something I learned in Sedona about the Vortex energy. Dennis Andres writes in his book, "What is a Vortex?", that vortexes are amplifiers or magnifiers when it comes to manifestation. He talks about a client of his who wanted to see a tarantula while she was visiting Arizona. He advised her to be careful b/c what you think gets amplified so you want to add "safely" to that request b/c it will happen. And it did. She saw one on a trail but it was a baby and no threat! I did get to spend more time with sons including at least one awesome family dinner. Now I wish them through the universe, safe travels!
Don't forget "Discovering Nature's Spirit" radio show tonight at 6 pm (EST) where the angels have quite a bit to share. Even, angel readings for you if you'd like to call in (718-664-6906)! Next Sunday will be the last Sunday evening for our show. Beginning in September, we're moving to Monday evenings from 7-8 pm (EST) for everyone's convenience.

Retrieving

I was reading a friend's post this morning about her lab retrieving a chicken and had to share Raven's recent adventure. She had occasion to go swimming in a lake. You may not know this about Raven but she is an avid fisherwoman. And has actually succeeded once in catching a fish with her bare teeth! So on this swim, she noticed a lone duck swimming not far from her and decided to give chase. She swam so fast after that duck I was afraid of how far out into the middle of the lake she'd go. As she got closer, the duck decided to add some wing power and started to fly. Well, Raven wasn't going to let that stop her. She swam with such force that she actually managed to lift herself up out of the water up to her chest! (she's almost 100 pounds) But then apparently gravity took hold once again. I guess she's not named Raven for naught.

Raven's World-33

Here's what Raven would like to share today. Remember that she's happy to take your questions, too!
"We (your animal friends and companions) ask that you do one thing today on behalf of the earth and its creatures. It certainly does not have to be a grand or expensive gesture. Small and free work just as well. (say a prayer or blessing, plant a tree, adopt a cat, fill your bird feeder, ...) Use your imagination. Be as creative as you'd like. Use your working thumbs and human power in the world. Stewardship begins with a single step."

Felidae

We have a cat who has suffered in the past with chronic urinary tract infections. It stems from crystals developing. Over the early years we meandered through all the usual standard vet procedures. Only to find that the only thing that really helps is a certain kind of diet. Specifically, cat food that does not contain the elements that cause the crystals in the first place. Up until recently we've made due with the non-holistic vet prescribed food. Even though I cringe at what companies put in food for our pets. So I've been searching for a holistic brand that will contain the magic recipe to ward off crystals. And low and behold, I found it! It's called Felidae and it's much more holistically oriented and we have been crystal free! Woohoo!

Buzzing!

The energy has just been buzzing since I returned from Sedona. So much happening. So many cool things coming in. Busy, busy, busy. Not just with my own work but also great offerings by others at The Purple Rose, too! I cannot wait for our psychic fair that we will host on Sat. Sept. 12 featuring many readers, healers and some vendors, too. We have Pamela Edmunds coming in from the Cape area to teach us Lightarian Reiki which is for those who have reached the Reiki Master level of training and are seeking something more. And we also have Jay Schwed offering us an amazing performance of singing bowls in October. I'm also excited about this coming Sunday evening's radio show featuring Lisl Meredith Huebner who is a chinese herbalist and co-owner of The Essence of Being in Burlington, CT who will be helping us all understand the topic of plant consciousness!

Raven's World-32

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Bring it down, people! Down into your heart. Breath the energy down from your head to your heart. Many of you are too much in your minds. And that mind chatter can lean toward the negative. Shift back to your heart. Then complete the circuit and breath from your heart to the bottoms of your feet. This will ground you and your energy. (too bad you don't have 4 paws like us! But 2 will work!) Practice this regularly. Many times a day. You will begin to live from a more heart centered space of love, flow, joy, clarity and miracles."

One last day trip

We took a day trip to the hoover dam, lake mead with its turquoise water and to vegas. Not exactly a spiritual piece of our vaca, but you know what they say about all work and no play!!

Catching up

It's taken me a while to catch up both at home and at work after being away. Here's a couple more photos from the trip. The top is the grand canyon. The pictures really don't do it justice. Unless you have the opportunity to stand on the side of it and look out you cannot imagine how huge it is. (remember that episode of the brady bunch where they took mules down it!! lol) The second photo is one of my favorite places in Sedona. It's a chapel built right into one of the red rock formations. It's a very powerful place. To me it feels like anyone from any background would enjoy its peacefulness. Arizona is a land of striking contrasts. You can move from the desert with its barrenness through Sedona with its red rock beauty up to the mountains where you find lush green (and I'm told snow in the winter). We also visited the old mining town of Jerome which is literally built on the side of a mountain. It's said to be haunted and you can even get a haunted cheeseburger there. I was in food heaven. Sedona has three health food stores and an italian restaurant (Picazzo's) with 4 pages of gluten free choices!!!

Raven's World-31

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"There is a peace within you. Deep inside. There's a place you can go. A secret place only you know. Reach for it. Use whatever method, technique or religion that brings you there. But you must find it. It is essential at this time. No matter what is going on in your life, in your community, in your body. It's the only way anything can begin to get better. It's the only way to see clearly, to find the answers or even begin to ask the right questions."

Sedona

Hubby and I spent last week in Sedona, Arizona. It truly is one of the most amazing places! There are red rock mountain formations with some powerful energy. Everyone speaks about 'energy vortexes' there! (although not everyone believes...at least they're talking about it) There are even tours of the vortexes! The rocks are named for the images you can see in them. How cool is that! It was around 100 every day! Nice and warm for me. And a great way to rest and recharge.
Don't forget to tune in to our live "Discovering Nature's Spirit" radio show tonight at 6 p.m. EST where The Angel Lady, Barbara Hardie, will be sharing with us information about ascension and 2012!

Raven's World-30

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Emotions are fluid. They need to flow freely and be released. Like a woman's fingers playing the strings of a harp, let them gently flow through you. Old emotions are coming up to the surface of the strings at this time. And blending with new emotions that are being played by life's current circumstances. It can be a very unique melody. If you do not honor and safely release these churning emotions, you will get sick or stuck. Know that it is all being perfectly orchestrated to allow each one of you to move to a new world."

It's crazy...but not bad!

Okay, I know this sounds way out there...but a friend of mine who's on a raw foods diet gave me this interesting recipe for chocolate mousse. You mix together avocado, raw cacao powder and agave nectar. It sounds wicked crazy...but it's not half bad! Especially for those of us with dairy issues!!

Quote of the day

I'll never forget hearing Dr. Wayne W. Dyer on Ellen a while back. I'm probably paraphrasing a bit but he said, "Thank you for your opinion of me, but quite frankly, it's none of my business."

Raven's World-29

A question came up for Raven about why animals always know about natural disasters. Like those animals that had gone to higher ground before the tsunami and were safe. Do you have a question for Raven?
"We (your animal friends and companions) are perfectly in tune with nature. We are one with the natural world around us. We could feel the vibration of the storm before it came. We read the rhythms, the signals, the signs. It is instinctive within us. It is within you, too, but for you it's confused with other mind chatter and disconnection. You cannot continue to view yourselves as separate. In the meantime you can look to us for clues about the world around you. We'll tell you through our language and our behaviors. That's why we're with you."

day off

I so enjoyed my day off yesterday! After securing some food supplies, I actually got to read a book for pleasure! I spent some time in the sun with the puppies, and waited for my men of all seasons to come home from a long day of work building a sidewalk and other planting stuff. This weekend I felt the need to pitch in after work with some physical labor in our own yard. We acquired some wood for the winter but it needs to be split and stacked. After sons take off to do their own thing, poor hubby is left with wood detail. For those who know me, I'm not that adept at physical work but I did what I could. I do admit stopping once I felt a blister coming on!!

So grateful

Last night I had the pleasure of offering readings at a house party. I'm so grateful that they welcomed me into their home and that they were so open to what Spirit wanted to share. I knew there would be a lot of mediumship especially when a male energy was with me on the drive over clearly telling me his nickname. Many similar questions seem to come from clients in general lately. And I can tell you with as much certainty as I can have in this work that loved ones on the other side forgive. It may not even be accurate to say forgive. Once they return to pure positive light energy, there is only love. So if you're holding onto worries that you didn't do or did do something, or should have done or shouldn't have done something...please let that go. They do not want you to hold onto to that. It warms my heart to hear so many more people recognizing signs that their loved ones are still with them from the other side! Dream visits, bird/animal sightings, feeling their presence, objects moving... They love it when we know it's them stopping by to say hi and share their 'undying' love!
I hope you'll join me tomorrow evening on Discovering Nature's Spirit as we continue our journey into the animal kingdom. (6-7 p.m est) We will explore how to recognize the signs and energies of the different animals. I'd be happy to pull an animal card for you and share which animal is guiding you at this time, or offer a reading for you, too. (call in # is 718-664-6906)

Warmth?

Does anyone know where the warm weather is? I'm trying not to complain. After all, the sun has been shining. The air is fresh and clean. The green world is green. The flowers are blooming. But it's the middle of July and I still need flannel pjs, blankets and a quilt to sleep at night. I wait all year for summer. It's when I'm finally warm! I know I shouldn't rush mother nature...not that I could anyhoo. But maybe, a really warm day or two, soon?!

Raven's World-28

Here's what Raven would like to share today:

"Chance. Sometimes it's a name you give to one of us (animals). Chance....leave nothing to chance...chance meeting... Think of how you use that word. Really it's a ride on the energetic grid (see Raven's world 5 & 6). That connects everything. All beings. chance is what your human mind comes up with to explain it all away. We wish you would wake up. It is time to take your 'chances'. Put your boat in the water. Expand your consciousness and awareness. Of what is really taking place. You can work with these energies with intention. If that intention is love, the WHOLE benefits. Every point on the grid. Everyone of us."

What a moon!

Wow, what a moon last night. It felt like I had some high test caffeine running through my veins while I was trying to sleep! I read that this one is called the blessing moon and I'm saying prayers that those in need of blessings, get them!!
It was a busy and wonderful weekend filled with both work and play. Many evenings shared with friends, bonfires and firework stuff.
Yesterday was a blessed day off. A chance to catch up on laundry and other necessities. I also made some homemade food items to get through the next couple of busy days. Puppies had some exercise and time in the sun. I hear we're hitting back onto the rain trail today. Makes you oh so grateful for those peeks of sun!

Raven's World-27

Here's what Raven would like to share today:

"For us (your animal friends and companions) it is all about energy. We read vibration. That is why we know you are leaving on vacation even before you pack your bags. Or how we know the storm is coming before the lightening strikes. We have spoken about this before (see Raven's World-8 ). But a question came up about naming us. How do you choose our name? We will give it to you if you listen. Through your vibration you will hear it. And because it's about the vibration of the name and not the name itself, it doesn't matter if you choose "Lacy" or "Daisy" because they both carry the same vibration. They would both be fine. Check out the similar vibrations around you in your human world of names, too. Are you attracted to similar vibrations both in name and relationships?"

They did it!

As of this week, both sons have now officially successfully completed their high school educations! Diplomas, ceremonies and parties, too. We are proud and relieved. It's a bit odd, though, to have kids this old. Young men, now. Moving into another phase and another adjusting of our relationships. Does this mean the gray hair will stop? Or just start up again in a whole new way!!!

Raven's World-26

Here's what Raven would like to share today: (remember she's happy to answer any questions you may have in her next post!)

"Do not forget the wild ones. They are trying to get your attention, too. My family recently had 'encounters' with a black bear, baby raccoons, a skunk and a deer (who did not move from the roar of a mower). These are signs. You need to wake up. We are all in this together. We are one being. One energy. Source. The Earth is calling. All Her voices joining together to call you back home. To together-ness. Separateness is just an illusion. Created by the mind to keep you 'safe'. But it is not real. You are already safe. When you look at the world around you through the eyes of Source within you."

Brighter colors

A friend of mine recently said, "Have you noticed that the colors this Spring seem brighter?" And I'm so grateful for her words because I was unable to articulate myself this same thing that I was seeing, too. This was in reference to the landscape, the foliage, the flowers...all seem more intense somehow. For me it has been a challenging spring, too. Some losses, some pain, some extra worries. But what I've noticed is that the colors just keep getting brighter and brighter. Not just in the landscape but in the people around me. And within myself. Like I am seeing it all in a whole new way. Finding light in places I never thought to look before. Purely and without judgment. I've become so keenly grateful for the simple things, too. Which also keep getting more intense in 'color'. So I'm grateful for all that I've walked through because it has led me to use the eyes that I now have. And I think that's what these planetary shifts are all about in finding true peace.

Thank you!

As another psychic development circle reached conclusion last night I was humbled by the honor it is to do this work. Being able to somehow facilitate the re-awakening of the amazing psychic gifts each one of us has. We are all born with them. They are a blessing from the divine. Everyone in circle was able to bring these forward and use them. Everyone brought through loving messages and guidance from Spirit. Each in their own unique way. What a gift it is for me to be part of the sacredness. So to God/Goddess and the divine faces within all of us, Thank you!

Raven's World-25

Here's what Raven would like to share today:

"Love is all there is. Nothing else is real. Because nothing else flows from source. You may move into or through other emotions in your human experience, but you must flow back to love. If you are seeking health, vitality and joy. If you are calling your dreams to you and you want them to come."

Animal yoga?

This is how my animals help me do yoga. This is Raven (who you know) and my cat merlin. Today is a day for self nurturance. Some yoga, some house cleaning and whatever else strikes my fancy before I have to go to work later this afternoon. As I'm writing this hubby (who got rained out of work this morning) just surprised me with a breakfast sandwich. I'm also working on perfecting a gluten free muffin recipe. Friends gave me almond flour from Italy. And I found a recipe on line for almond flour muffins...but not chocolate. So I added a bit of this (cocoa powder, fresh strawberries, honey, walnuts, almond milk....) and deleted a bit of that (lemon zest, dried cranberries) to the recipe I found which consisted of almond flour, eggs, baking soda, sea salt and oil. I've been flying by the seat of my pants with a bit of my italian ancestors whispering in my ear about quantities. But the first batch turned out darn good. Now my plan is to incorporate a new secret ingredient...apple sauce in place of the eggs. While having dinner with a friend the other night at flatbread, the staff was passing around free samples of a new addition to their menu. It was a little muffin/dessert of chocolate heaven. That just happened to be organic, gluten-free, and vegan. They told me the secret was applesauce. So, I'm gonna run with that!

Raven's World-24

Welcome to Wed's with Raven. Here's what she'd like to share today:

"Times are a-changin'. Life is a merry-go-round. We (your animal companions) watch as some of you spin round and round. Going nowhere. Resisting the new energy. The new way of being more in alignment with who you truly are. Not understanding that you can step off the ride at anytime. Step off, and get on a more pleasant ride. Perhaps a water rapid ride. It's quicker and it takes you somewhere... as long as you go with the flow!"

Blessed rain

I can hear all of our new plantings and old plantings soaking up this drink of rain they're getting this morning. And I'm very grateful to mother nature. With a fairly shallow well, I can't always give them all they need from the tap. Hubby gets a break with the rain, too, which he really needs. This being his busy season is true to form as he's been wicked busy. Which is good but for the toll it can take on his body. And Salem is on the mend. They removed his drain yesterday and it all looks good. He has more freedom of movement now but must remain indoors until all the stitches are removed in a couple of weeks. I know you don't know salem but keeping him indoors is no small feat. He's sneaky and very vocal about all these injustices. And raven who is of course a star now that you all enjoy her wed. columns, has decided the rain is a good reason to go back to bed. Our bed. Complete with her head on hubby's pillow

Picture perfect day

Yesterday was a picture perfect day. I accompanied hubby in the morning down to the wholesale nursery that he gets to go to because he's a professional landscaper. It's really one of my favorite places on earth. And is bringing me closer to my ultimate goal of having at least one of every flower known to (wo)man. I brought home some new friends from our trip, namely, hibiscus (rose mallow), beard-tongue for my hummer friends, and some royal candles, too. Then I took the dogs for a trek, sat in the sunshine, weeded the gardens and with hubby doing the digging planted our new friends. And for the icing on the cool cake of a day, in-laws took us out for dinner at the outback (which has one of the only gluten-free menus in the state). I really want to get to herbfest one of these years, but I needed a day in my yard. Tonight, I hope you'll join me in welcoming Jess Steinman to Discovering Nature's Spirit (6-7 pm EST) as a guest. Jess is a good friend and an amazing medium. We will discuss connecting to our loved ones on the other side and offer readings to callers! The really cool thing is that Jess hosts a show on blogtalkradio.com, too. Hers is at 5 and is called Spirit Whispers. So you can listen for two great hours if you so choose!

Fear or love...what will we choose?

I enjoy using Doreen Virtue's 'Daily Guidance from your Angels' book which contains 365 messages from the angels. I'll open to a page at 'random' and see what it has to say to me. I recently opened to page 222 (the angel number for not giving up before the miracle happens) and found a message on healing anger. Doreen/the angels write, "When fiery emotions threaten the sanctity of your relationships, remember that love is always in your midst. Anger can be used as a tool for increasing fear or love, depending on your decision. If you build a case against another person, you erect walls to protect yourself from feeling emotions. Love's approach removes all barriers..." I started to think of how often we do that. Something goes array in a relationship and immediately we think of all the reasons the other person is wrong. We form judgments about that other person looking at them from our own limited perspective. And if we're intuitive we think that we know the whole of someone when perhaps we're only seeing a certain piece through our own lens or filter. And I was thinking back to my more prominent lawyer days when all we did was build cases against people as a matter of course. No wonder it was such a contested system with little room for compromise.

Once bitten...but not shy

Salem should be coming home today from his stay at the vet. Salem is my fiercest hunter cat. He has brought down snakes, chipmonks, birds, moles, a large rat, mice, full grown squirrels...to name a few. He's a pretty small guy for his ability. We acquired Salem when as a wee kitten and out of nowhere he walked out of our woods, climbed up the side of my hubby and perched up on his shoulder. A couple days ago he came out on the not-so-winning side of a battle. We found a large puncture wound to his chest. He kept us up all night tue trying to grab him up. He won that battle making his way to the back of son's closet. The unreachable part of the closet. Yesterday morning we drew him out and the vet fixed him up despite all his protestations. And when he comes home today I expect that the drain in the wound and the cone on his head will just further piss him off. Not to mention the obvious need that he remain inside for quite some time.

Raven's World-23

Thank you so much for your questions for Raven from your comments on her last post. She will answer them in her thoughts today. Both questions involve how to reconnect.

Her first answer is for the first question which came from comment #1 (screen name begins with a 'b'):

"You had to be strong early on. You are still maintaining that place of strength but the need for it has passed. You had to 'grow up' too soon for whatever reason. So that child with wonder and magic in her heart got lost along the way. If you could find ways to reconnect with that child and all the tools she holds, you'd find that you easily reconnect with spirit, too. It's safe now. Start small. Begin by asking the child, 'what would I do/want right now?' And then indulge safely and gently."

Her second answer is to the question from comment #3 (screen name begins with 'h'):

"See the world through the eyes of a child. That will take you there!"

Busy blessings

It was a crazy wonderful busy weekend. Topped off yesterday with brunch at Water's Edge (a gift from friends). After brunch we found a beach down by the shore to play on with a sand bar and sunshine that warmed the water. Then a rush back home to host discovering nature's spirit. Carla Kurt was our guest who shared with us an amazingly cool process of making your own oracle cards!

Are they aliens?

They seem to live completely in their own world. They often wear funny things on their heads backward or sideways. They talk only using their thumbs. They have funny markings or holes in their bodies. They do not understand the rest of us at all. We don't really understand them. They have no desire to live in community with us. Our rules and regulations mean nothing to them. Are they beings from another planet. Or just our teenagers hitting that stage?...

Raven's World-22

Here are Raven's thoughts today:

"The world of Spirit is very much with us. It is not separate as many of you have come to believe. Your separateness beliefs have superimposed a veil between the worlds. Heaven is truly here on Earth. For us (your animal friends) and those of you who remember, we can interact with Spirit. We do not fear death. For we are still very much with ALL family. Here and there. We see the Spirits of Nature, too. That is why you watch us looking at and talking to and playing with friends you may not allow yourself to see."

lit'l ditty

All I have to say,

"Debt" perception

Right before last night's radio show on manifesting Spirit gave me an exercise to share with my listeners. It sounds a bit crazy. But it's about changing the way we perceive things. So in general we view debt as 'bad' and a lot of income as 'good'. So for one day Spirit challenges us to view it in the opposite way. So, mucho debt becomes a good thing. And lots of income becomes a bad thing. Turn our usual perceptions on their head. So if you're one of those people who have a lot of debt, for one day you celebrate this. If you are someone who's not pulling in a lot of dinero right now, this you celebrate, too. Spirit says that if we find peace with whatever we're making (or not making). And then we stop seeing our in-debt-edness as a horrible thing we'll be able to increase our flow of abundance. Helping us to achieve that debt forgiveness, too, that they talked about in my last post. The really cool thing is that after mentioning this challenge on the show last night, a woman in chat shared that she had gotten the same idea a while back and she is now debt free!!!

Debt forgiveness

In preparing for our radio show sun. night (6pm est) on manifesting, I had a thought. What if as part of the bail out of the banks, we included the condition of debt forgiveness for some. What if the individual or family or small business who is using credit cards to survive, for instance, got some relief. Instead of the companies taking the bail out money AND jacking up interest rates into the 20s out of greed. Thereby kicking 'us' when we're down. (and while I'm on the topic, what if those in charge of gas hikes didn't screw us this summer?) What if those struggling to pay the mortgage because of loss of a job that they had for 20 years got a year off or something (forgiven, so to speak). A period of 'grace'. So that they can find their footing again. Spirit let me have my rant. Then they gently came in and suggested I think about the term 'debt forgiveness'. "Isn't that what you all need." They said. "For yourselves. Why don't you start with forgiving yourself for wherever you are. For whatever you did or had to do to get there. Instead you blame yourselves. We hear you. Over and over again you beat yourself up for where you are. For this 'debt'. You hold yourselves (and each other) 'accountable' to the point where it takes its toll on you in other ways. Health manifestations. Family break ups. And most important you hold yourself cut off from source. From love. From which abundance flows. Source is all forgiving."

Raven's World-21

A couple weeks ago hubby and I accompanied friends when synchronistically they came across a puppy. It was the breed they always wanted. But they wanted a male dog and this was a female. I could hear both the guides and the puppy herself clearly indicating this puppy needed to go home with our friends. It was meant to be that they have this dog. They hesitated. I used careful language to encourage them to consider adopting this puppy. It was not my decision, after all. But the guides were screaming at me...and now she thankfully is the newest member of this awesome family! I asked Raven about this and here's what she had to say: (if you have a question for Raven, just leave a comment and she'll answer it in her next post!)

"We (your animals) come to you in male or female form. It matters not to us. For we are all energy beings. Male and female is simply energy. It is you who make such a big deal about the labels. A male dog can be filled with female energy and a female dog can be filled with male energy. Because every living thing has both. You will get the energy that you and your family needs most. Neither is better than the other. It is simply about balancing out what is most needed. Spirit knows what is most needed and will bring that to you. The question is will you accept it?"

Faces

You know what I'd love to see represented in our culture?! An elder woman's face! I'd love to see her face in Hollywood, in magazines, the media, on tv. I'd love for us to honor the elder female with all her wrinkles, spots and grey hair. We talked about the divine female on our radio show on Mother's Day (see archives) but we didn't have time to talk about this aspect. Which is one of my greatest pet peeves. All of us seem to strive for a youthful beauty. Some even under the knife. It has become our culture's definition of 'beauty' for women. Does anyone realize it's an unattainable goal since we all do age. We of course all age in our own way. Some gracefully and some looking a bit weathered from all the challenges we've surmounted. But each beautiful. You know who I think has one of the most beautiful faces? Maya Angelou. I've admired her since I read one of her first books back in school. Her face is pure and it's inspiring. It shows the wisdom and the strength that she owns for all she has had to walk through. This concept speaks to a greater devalue of the female aspect in our culture. If only we could honor each of us for our own uniqueness through every stage of our lives.

Exhale

Today I have some time to actually exhale (before going to work tonight). Our food coffers need to be refilled and some checks need to make their way to the bank. But other than that the day is mine! I hear Raven putting her two cents in for a walk. I hear the couch calling me for nap. I'd like to do more research and organizing for some new classes I'm presenting soon (like empath 101). Most important (and a little known secret addiction of mine, I might add) is that Michael finally woke up on GH and well, I need to see that! Enjoy your Monday!

After a busy day yesterday of festivals and a two-year old's birthday party, I'm off to work this morning. I'm looking forward to tonight's show ("Discovering Nature's Spirit on blogtalkradio.com at 6 p.m. EST) where our special guest is our beloved Dory Dzinski who is the editor and publisher of The Door Opener magazine and also a spiritual and holistic counselor. Join us if you can!

Busy, busy, busy

Wow, work and home stuff has kept me so busy lately that I haven't had time to blog or attend to other's blogs either. Hubby turned 40 this week, one son has prom, one son has a graduation next week, and we've had wonderful outings with friends. It seems like this pattern may go on through the end of may. It has made the moments of silence, so to speak, the moments of alone time even more precious to me. Work is blessedly busy, too, for which I'm most grateful. I'm meeting wonderful people and getting exciting feedback about how fairies and intuitive hits are playing awesome roles in their lives! And this weekend is forest folk fest if you're interested in stopping by. I'll be there tomorrow! There will be presenters, performers, vendors, feasting...all benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
