Catching up

It's taken me a while to catch up both at home and at work after being away. Here's a couple more photos from the trip. The top is the grand canyon. The pictures really don't do it justice. Unless you have the opportunity to stand on the side of it and look out you cannot imagine how huge it is. (remember that episode of the brady bunch where they took mules down it!! lol) The second photo is one of my favorite places in Sedona. It's a chapel built right into one of the red rock formations. It's a very powerful place. To me it feels like anyone from any background would enjoy its peacefulness. Arizona is a land of striking contrasts. You can move from the desert with its barrenness through Sedona with its red rock beauty up to the mountains where you find lush green (and I'm told snow in the winter). We also visited the old mining town of Jerome which is literally built on the side of a mountain. It's said to be haunted and you can even get a haunted cheeseburger there. I was in food heaven. Sedona has three health food stores and an italian restaurant (Picazzo's) with 4 pages of gluten free choices!!!
