An Honor

About a week or so ago, I was guided to dig out an old necklace to wear again. It was a piece that came into The Purple Rose. It has a medicine wheel in its center and an animal for each direction. I took it out of the bottom of my jewelry box where it had been for quite some time and put it on. It tingled and felt right but I had no idea exactly why. Then a couple of days ago I saw a post on facebook that Ted Andrews had passed into the spirit world. I have to admit that I didn't believe it. Today I find an official notice at llewellyn.com. And as I read the memoriam, I notice the date of the passing as the same time I was guided to retrieve the necklace. The necklace had come in with a batch of animal guide necklaces created by Ted Andrews. I think the animal kingdom wanted to honor their friend. I cannot even begin to put into words the effect Ted Andrews and his work has had on my life. He was inspirational to my own journey in so many ways. His bible, Animal Speak, along with the medicine cards I use every day by Sams and Carson, were my gateway to connecting with my animal friends, guides and to my own animal communication gifts. I was fortunate to be able to see him in person not too long ago in Farmington where he taught us all about the fairy world and the magick that lives within each of us. He took us on a journey using Irish brogue that stays with me still. My love to all who he has left behind. Blessed be.

Raven's World-43

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Everyone has a treasure buried deep within. It is the path to your soul. It is your divine essence. It has the answers to your questions, the light in your darkest times. For some it may lie beneath years of debris. Some may be spending time in search of the key. But the only way to find the treasure is through the heart. Only the heart knows the way."

A party!

I have to admit I haven't been to a halloween party in quite some time. But tonight lots of friends and sons, too, are gathering at a friend's for a traditional halloween extravaganza. My friend who is hosting has gotten into the spirit like I have never seen before. Every inch of her house is now decorated. All levels. Spiderwebs, dismembered people, pumpkins, cockroaches, spiders, just to name a few. There are things and people hanging from trees in the yard. But most impressive is a mad scientist lab. Complete with pre-cooked items in jars such as eyeballs, insects, body parts and stuff. The preparation has taken months. The effort huge. There's even going to be an impressive scavenger hunt for all to partake. The menu itself would scare even the strongest among us. I'm bringing her a special gift from my family to show how much we love her and our appreciation of how much she would give of herself so that all of us can have so much fun!

Raven's World-42

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Do you like what you see when you look in the mirror? If you use us (your animal friends and companions) as that mirror you will. For we always reflect true love to you. That is how we see you because we know your truth!"

Rainy Salem

What an amazing weekend. Saturday I sat with a group of beautiful women at The Purple Rose as we all received the first attunement in a series being offer by Pamela Marie Edmunds called Lightarian Reiki. Dinner with wonderful friends after that. Then yesterday hubby, friends and I went on an exciting and wet adventure to Salem, MA. I enjoy spending time there especially at this time of year. And bless our little party because we had a blast even though it was rainy and windy. It actually seemed like it was part of the adventure. And just to add a bit of extra ambiance to our crazy day, we drove back through mass in snow!

Snowy day off

Yesterday was my day off. Between working weekends as a regular course of my business and doing so many different things, my schedule can somehow get the best of me. I discover I haven't given myself a day off. So I saw ahead of time that yesterday was my only chance and made sure I crossed that day right out of my work planner. Right before I awoke to take my car in for a new muffler, I had a dream that there was about 2-3 inches of snow that came and made my hubby (landscaper & plow guy) scramble. Sure enough after my quick morning errands, the snow began to fall. I was blessedly inside with a fire in the wood stove, cuddly puppies, and lots of tea. The photo above is my poor willow tree this morning after a night of mixed precipitation weighing down her still green leaves.

Raven's World-41

Monday evening I was a guest on Pamela Edmunds' "Bridge between Two World's" radio show. Our subject was animals both here and beyond. (archive is available at the link above or at contacttalkradio.com). On the show she asked me to bring through a message from the animals and it's that message that Raven shares here today:
"This is the time to live your dreams. As we move into the winter months begin to dream your dreams again. Gather them close to you and gather resources, too, so that when Spring arrives you can burst them forth into the world. Tune into nature and the energy that the seasons bring to us. You are being called to live in harmony with nature and to bring your dreams into the world. Know and believe that you will be supported by Spirit."

Great 'winter'? day!

I began to notice the hummingbirds disappearing much earlier than usual this year and knew we were in for an early winter. So I harvested the last of the garden last night before the frost was to come. And hubby heard some nonsense about flurries in the forecast for tomorrow. I know that acceptance is really all I can do about what mother nature has in store for us. But I do feel the need to mention that we never really had a nice warm summer that I so crave!
To cheer us up this evening Discovering Nature's Spirit radio show will be hosting special guest, Jay Schwed! He travels the United States to bring us all amazing sound healing vibration performances. He uses crystal bowls and many other modalities! He will be on the show this evening from 7-8:00 pm. And then he will be offering a healing performance tomorrow night at The Purple Rose at 7:30. There is still space available!
After my show tonight, I'm delighted to be a guest on Pamela Edmund's show, Bridge between two Worlds at contacttalkradio.com. Her show airs at 8 and we will be discussing our animal friends on the other side!

Sin?

In all the years I've been studying spirituality and the different practices, I've never been all the comfortable with the definitions of 'sin' that I've heard. But recently I heard a spiritual teacher define sin as 'our refusal to dance with the divine in joy'. I'd rate that one as the best one so far!

Raven's World-40

Here's what Raven would like to share today. Remember she welcomes your questions and will answer them in her next post.
"To eat meat or not to eat meat. Many of you wonder about this question. For some it is okay and for others not so much. But the more pressing matter is how your meat comes to you. We (your animal friends and companions) implore you to encourage the humane treatment of animals by what you purchase and what you choose to consume. Open pasture fed meat is so much healthier for you and for the animals, too. It is the toxins, the chemicals and the non-natural diet in the animal that causes your diseases and cancers when it then ends up in you. And we need to share the most important piece. We are all one. So what you do to the animals reflects what you will still do to each other, too."

Lightarian Reiki

What an amazing weekend! We had a beautiful fair on Saturday. It was so wonderful to all be back together again and welcome in so many new faces, too! Then yesterday, hubby and I ventured up to the Big E and enjoyed a free Seether concert that was awesome! Tonight I'm looking forward to interviewing Pamela Marie Edmunds on Discovering Nature's Spirit. Pamela is an amazing energy healer and psychic medium from Onset, Mass who will be traveling to The Purple Rose beginning on Oct. 17 to offer us a series of Lightarian Reiki trainings. She will be discussing Lightarian Reiki on our show tonight (7 pm est) and she and I will offer mediumship readings for callers! (call in #718-664-6906)

Rain or shine!

I'm honored and excited to sit in community tomorrow with other healers and readers at The Purple Rose Psychic Fair. And I'm also honored to be of service to all of you who may decide to pop by! This time we can offer the fair rain or shine. (or even warm or cold!!) My wonderful landlord offered us extra space up on the second floor of our old mill building in the Tariffville section of Simsbury inside should we decide to be indoors. And if it ends up being comfortable outside we'll all gather along the river behind our building. Either way we will be offering readers who do angel, medium, intuitive, soul purpose, tarot card and spirit guide artistry readings and healers who offer reflexology, aiijii and reiki... We will feature a local artist, Bethany Day, with her beautiful spirit inspired photography, and of course, The Purple Rose will be open so that you may find a special spiritual item if you'd like. Join us between 10-4:00!

Beyond Religion

I have been attending a weekly spiritual group with a friend. I was a bit hesitant at first because it is not my religion. But I trust my friend so I gave it a try. What I'm finding is warming my heart. The same teachings that I find through many different spiritual practices. That of love. That the divine is love. That we have the divine within us and within all nature. Reminding us to breath. To slow down. That what we are searching for when we feel empty is that connection to the divine. All tenets that feel true to me. And I'm reminded how important it is to not allow our particular religious language to separate us.
