Blogging blessings

Thank you so much to Kim for my award. What a beautiful blessing! A little over a year ago, I shifted my business, The Purple Rose, from a storefront to a healing center. I did this because owning a small retail business became exhausting to me over time. Because I was working so many hours each week. Though life is more balanced for me now working by appointment and focusing on the services that I love, one of the things I miss most, is seeing all of the friends I made. Although not the same as an in person visit, connecting with all of you again through blogging (and facebook, too) has been such an amazing blessing! I want to share Annie's button, too...she's offering an amazing spring give away...check it out!

Ten of Swords

In the world of tarot, the ten of swords card is sometimes referred to as the 'darkest before the dawn' card. It often depicts a dead body with lots of blood and multiple swords stabbing into it. It's a very graphic symbolic image to denote when life has, well, got you down, so to speak. It feels to me that the month of february is that 'darkest before the dawn' image. Energetically. The good news when you pull this card in a reading is that it can't get any worse than it already is. And a new & better dawn is always coming next. So I call to the energy of march, bring it on!

Raven's World-9

Thank you so much for your question last week. If you have questions for Raven, just leave a comment. She'll be sure to answer them in her following Wed. column.

Here's what she has to say today:

"Last week you asked about your individual animal. (see Raven's World-8 comment #3) You told us about his (or her) unusual behavior that was unacceptable to you. You posed a great question when you wondered how your cat is not reading your vibration of displeasure. The truth is that he is. But he's ignoring it. Because what he's trying to tell you is more important. There's always a reason behind a new or unusual behavior. It is always a message for you. Because you don't seem to be listening to us. We have to do something that will be sure to capture your attention. Then you get annoyed with our behavior and still miss the fact that we have an important message for you. So the original message could be a health concern you're ignoring, or a family issue that needs addressing. Look to the behavior itself for clues. Look to the location in the house that it's occurring. Always seek vet attention just in case. Ask yourself what changes in your home or family occured right before the behavior began. In your particular case, I'm compelled to ask you, "How's the energy of your home?" (or perhaps..."who's energetically defecating where you live?)"

What were you thinking?

Do you ever wish you had the opportunity to ask certain people that question? I wish I could have a chat with the person who designed my kitchen counters. I love my kitchen, it's huge, there plenty of light, plenty of storage space...but my counters have a lip on the edge of them. The lip is higher than the counter itself. So if you're cleaning up crumbs, for example, you cant just sponge them off the counter in one nice swipe and into your hand to throw away. You have to somehow lift them up and over this lip. I have to assume that the person that designed this lip thing never cleaned a kitchen in his life. And so I'd just love to ask him, "really, what were you thinking?"

Rampage of appreciation

Rampage of appreciation is a phrase used in the teachings of abraham as brought forward by Esther Hicks. Today I woke up feeling that I needed to go on one (how about you? What are you grateful for?). So here goes: I am grateful for so many things in my life. A husband to share life with, two sons that keep me guessing, my animals who I could not live without. I'm grateful for so many wonderful and thoughtful friends and the gifts that we share. I love my home (especially now that I had the time and energy to clean it yesterday!) and the nature that surrounds it. I'm grateful to be able to do this holistic work I'm meant to do and be of service. I'm grateful to The Purple Rose and to all that have been drawn through our doors. I'm grateful for my partner Annie, how we work so well together, complementing each other in a way (as she likes to say) that allows each other's light to shine. I'm grateful for the amazing internet forums to connect with all of you including our new radio show which debuted last night! I'm grateful that the winds (that began to affect my on line connection) didn't pick up last night until after the show was over!! I'm grateful for my ability to connect with the other side and to all the unseen helpers who are always guiding me (even on the days my connection wavers). My goddess girl jeep, of course. My health and well being, my healing work, all of life's simple pleasures and my ability to wake up each day and enjoy them!

Fairy gifts and radio shows

This past radio show was all about fairies. Last night I received an unexpected gift from a friend (who hadn't been able to catch the show) of some fairy flower seeds to add to my fairy garden this spring. I love the sychonicity of it all!

I'm excited about our show moving to its new internet venue, tonight (and every Sunday) at 6 p.m. EST at blogtalkradio.com. Here's the link: "Discovering Nature's Spirit". We would love to hear from you! (call-in number is 718-664-6906)

Shaya kisses and Willow blessings

Every morning without fail, two of my animals know when I'm awake. Even if I have not moved an inch or even opened my eyes yet, they seem to know. Shaya jumps up and gives my face tons of kisses and Willow, my cat, is right with him. She will do gentle head butts to my hand so that I pet her. In return the purring begins. I have to tell you I can't think of a better way to great each day! For the first weekend in a long time, I have it off! And, I even have two friendship gatherings later to attend and enjoy. What a blessed day!

Raven's World-8

Not too long ago I saw a comic strip that posed the question, "what are dogs really saying when they bark?" Then you saw two dogs with the words, "hey, hey, hey..." streaming out of their mouths. So I asked Raven what dogs are really saying to each other...and other animals, too.
(do you have a question for her?)

Here's what she said:
"We (animals) communicate purely through vibration. We each have our own unique sound or call. It is the sound vibration of it that can change depending upon what we're communicating. We are able to read each other's sound vibration. We do not use words as you do. Although we can recognize the vibration of the words that you use. It's about reading your energy, or the frequency of the sounds you're using with us. That's why if you say our name and you're excited, our tails wag. If you say our name and you're disappointed with us, our head may fall. It's the same name, but it's the way you've said it that we are able to read. You could also talk gibberish, but be excited about it and our tail would wag, too. Because it's your vibration we are reading."

Walkin' in a winter wonderland

Yesterday we finally let Raven convince us to go for a significant walk. (see Raven's world-1) There's still snow on the ground where I live and it was a balmy 32 degrees yesterday. So I bundled up, grabbed the husband and the dogs and off we went. It was a beautiful walk through the woods. We walked along a stream that was snow covered in places with crystallized ice formations. The dogs ran free and I was finally able to breathe. We sat on some stumps as the sunshine made its way through the bare branches to warm my face. I was grateful to be able to walk in the husband's big footprints as the snow sunk down in certain places. I never doubted that Raven was right, I just needed the temp to move above freezing!

Bad neighbors

This morning I was up early at 6:30 and once again saw my neighbor's dog huddled outside their back door. The dog is a brown poodle mix of some sort, medium-size-ish. Certainly not a hardy outdoor dog. The temp this morning is 20 here, but the wind chill on this mountain is so cold, raven, who likes to wander came right back in after doing her business. Then as I was watching out my kitchen window their dog moved from the back door to the picture window, stood up on its hind legs and looked pleadingly (okay I couldn't see his/her face...but I'm sure it was) into the window. Everyone next door appeared to still be abed so that poor puppy had to have been out all night.

Was it a fairy?...

I'm convinced that my little american eskimo dog, shaya, is really a fairy prince incarnated into a canine form this lifetime to be with me. There are always fairies dancing around him. He exudes such unconditional love that it can be overwhelming in a blessed way. Every now and then he has a peculiar sneezing fit. Multiple sneezes. Powerful sneezes. It's really a comedy show when it occurs. You just have to laugh at him. Over and over again he sneezes making more noise than a small dog should be making. The other piece of the spectacle is that because he is so close to the ground he hits his head on the floor on the downward force of each sneeze. Poor puppy needs to learn to lift his head...or move to a softer location below. So I have to say...who else but a fairy. I really believe one (or two...) fly up his nose to cause this display. After all, what other explanation can there possibly be?! This coming Thur at 3 p.m EST on my radio show I'll be bringing through many other fairy charms, nature spirit messages and over all, well, joyful tidings & readings, too!

Do you believe?

This week on the tv show 'criminal minds' they featured a story that involved a psychic helping in the investigation of a crime. There were only a few who gave credence to what the psychic said. Most in the 'behavioral unit of the fbi' were adamantly against using the psychic. During the show they gave us the following quote that they credited to Stuart Chase:

"For those who believe no proof is necessary. For those who don't, no proof is possible."

How true.

Raven's World-7

Welcome to Raven's Wed. column! Here's what she would like to share today:

"The story that my family posted about midnight is important. (see holistic blessings) Notice that midnight knew all along the new food was not right for him. And the silver would help. You must come back to the people's medicine. You must stop this one size fits all mentality. It does not serve you. You must stop giving your healing power away to others who do not have your best interests at heart. Your bodies always hold all the answers that you need. They are your bridge between spirit and earth. If you do not listen to your angels and guides, eventually your body will tell you what you have missed. If you keep ignoring the message from your body, it will then get louder and louder as your condition gets worse. So it stands to reason that the 'cure' you are then seeking lies within you as well. Your bodies will tell you what you need. So the real question is are you listening?"

Powerful moon

The past couple of nights of the full moon were wicked amazing. Each night she appeared through the trees to rise to her rightful place above us. She then shown her powerful light upon the dark expanse of landscape. Nothing was immune to the brightness. No one could hide. Every shadow was illuminated.

Holistic Blessings

My cat, Midnight, used to have chronic cystitis (urinary tract infections). We used to have him to the vet on a regular basis. Poor kitty had rounds of antibiotics, surgery and other meds. It wasn't until we discovered 'Royal Canin Urinary SO' cat food that he found any relief. It apparently was his diet all along. Not that we were feeding him anything bad, the food just contained ingredients that blocked his tract. Recently, husband found an organic version of cat food that claimed to offer none of those blockage causing ingredients. So we switched. Midnight complained loudly. But husband was adamant that he give it a try. Well, you guessed it, midnight ended up with another UTI. And you may be wondering how we knew? Well, over the course of the many UTI's in the past, midnight found the perfect way to tell us there was a problem....he would pee in the dog's food bowl! So a few days ago we looked in Raven's bowl to see bloody urine. (sorry, i hope no one is eating breakfast) It was of course after regular vet hours. So I decided to pull on all the holistic alternative knowledge I have. I started giving him some vit. c initially. Then I thought of natural antibiotics and heard intuitively that 'sovereign silver' would be okay for a cat. So treatment began with some reiki energy healing, too. Husband ordered some more royal canin and we got rid of the organic cat food. And over the course of only 3 days he was better. The urine in raven's bowl began to flow & run clear. (there were no signs of physical distress ie. swollen belly...) On one occasion midnight even 'asked' for the sovereign silver. It was on the counter and he jumped up and nudged the bottle. Now I'm not advocating any of this, I'm not saying that this will work across the board for any other cat, and I'm not suggesting anyone stop going to the vet. All I know is that the treatment didn't cause further distress, and we didn't have to pay over $900 for an emergency vet bill. Holistic blessings indeed!

Raven's World-6

Did you know that Raven is a Reiki healer? Many animals are natural healers. Raven asked for an attunement from me after I became a Reiki Master. So she can now do Reiki healings!

Raven would love to hear from you if you have comments or question!

Here's Raven's message for today:

"Because we (your animal guides and companions) are sensitive and can see the energy grid (see Raven's World-5), we have the ability to detect energy 'fingerprints'. Everything is energy. And everything has an energy imprint or 'fingerprint'. Some are good feeling. (When a compliment is given or love is shared.) Some are not good feeling. (When anger is expressed, worry is in excess, or a toxic friend has visited.) The good feeling imprints are good. The bad feeling imprints need to be cleared. We see them as muddy blobs floating around you or your space. They may begin to reek havoc if left unchecked. Like a house that has never been physically clean, you would not want to live in it. Yet, many of you live in a dirty house (car, workplace, self) energetically. My family uses white sage and intention to clear our home regularly. You may use water and prayer. What you use is not important. Just use something!"

Coincidence?

Last night I stayed up way past my bedtime to watch the premier of 'medium'. The main theme was one of a 'walk-in'. This is a metaphysical concept where the soul of someone who has passed moves into a new body without the birth process. It just happens to be the same theme as the current entire plot this year of 'ghostwhisperer'. Except that on medium, it was all a scam. On 'ghostwhisperer' it is supposed to be something we are all buying (see not diggin' it). Now I ask you, beautiful readers, do you think that the two main psychic shows on prime time pay attention to each other's story lines? Do you think that medium was watching the ghostwhisperer dive? Do you think that they are poking fun or do you think it's just a coincidence?

A rainbow superbowl

My friend Annie has channeled a series of messages from the angels about diet. Not diet in the commercial/cookie cutter sense, but rather how to feel and look good in a healthy way. About the same time she was receiving these messages, so was I. Mine were the same yet different. (& mine were for me while hers were to be shared) We are of course all different. So everyone would do well to listen to their own bodies, as well as follow some similar angel advice on rainbow foods, white foods (not sugar and flour)... Annie will be on my radio show on Thur. Feb. 12 talking in detail about this angel way of eating. She also is sharing it on her blog (although, her computer has been ill lately). I'm blessed to have friends who understand my food allergies. So last night at their house we had a veritable feast of angel approved food. There were multiple rainbows (homemade mango salsa, salad, avocado dip...) and there was plenty of white food requirements, too (fish, chicken, walnuts...). And everyone was happy and full. And this morning I feel good. That's the reason you may want to take a peek at this 'diet'. In my experience, it leaves you full of energy, clear, and, well, healthy!

Which are you?

I believe there are 3 kinds of fans for today's superbowl extravaganza. First, there are those die hard football fans (like me), Second, there are those 'well, okay, I'll watch the commercials and the half-time show, & I love a good party...", and then third, there are those who are watching a movie instead (ie. no fan-at-all)!
