They did it!

As of this week, both sons have now officially successfully completed their high school educations! Diplomas, ceremonies and parties, too. We are proud and relieved. It's a bit odd, though, to have kids this old. Young men, now. Moving into another phase and another adjusting of our relationships. Does this mean the gray hair will stop? Or just start up again in a whole new way!!!

Raven's World-26

Here's what Raven would like to share today: (remember she's happy to answer any questions you may have in her next post!)

"Do not forget the wild ones. They are trying to get your attention, too. My family recently had 'encounters' with a black bear, baby raccoons, a skunk and a deer (who did not move from the roar of a mower). These are signs. You need to wake up. We are all in this together. We are one being. One energy. Source. The Earth is calling. All Her voices joining together to call you back home. To together-ness. Separateness is just an illusion. Created by the mind to keep you 'safe'. But it is not real. You are already safe. When you look at the world around you through the eyes of Source within you."

Brighter colors

A friend of mine recently said, "Have you noticed that the colors this Spring seem brighter?" And I'm so grateful for her words because I was unable to articulate myself this same thing that I was seeing, too. This was in reference to the landscape, the foliage, the flowers...all seem more intense somehow. For me it has been a challenging spring, too. Some losses, some pain, some extra worries. But what I've noticed is that the colors just keep getting brighter and brighter. Not just in the landscape but in the people around me. And within myself. Like I am seeing it all in a whole new way. Finding light in places I never thought to look before. Purely and without judgment. I've become so keenly grateful for the simple things, too. Which also keep getting more intense in 'color'. So I'm grateful for all that I've walked through because it has led me to use the eyes that I now have. And I think that's what these planetary shifts are all about in finding true peace.

Thank you!

As another psychic development circle reached conclusion last night I was humbled by the honor it is to do this work. Being able to somehow facilitate the re-awakening of the amazing psychic gifts each one of us has. We are all born with them. They are a blessing from the divine. Everyone in circle was able to bring these forward and use them. Everyone brought through loving messages and guidance from Spirit. Each in their own unique way. What a gift it is for me to be part of the sacredness. So to God/Goddess and the divine faces within all of us, Thank you!

Raven's World-25

Here's what Raven would like to share today:

"Love is all there is. Nothing else is real. Because nothing else flows from source. You may move into or through other emotions in your human experience, but you must flow back to love. If you are seeking health, vitality and joy. If you are calling your dreams to you and you want them to come."

Animal yoga?

This is how my animals help me do yoga. This is Raven (who you know) and my cat merlin. Today is a day for self nurturance. Some yoga, some house cleaning and whatever else strikes my fancy before I have to go to work later this afternoon. As I'm writing this hubby (who got rained out of work this morning) just surprised me with a breakfast sandwich. I'm also working on perfecting a gluten free muffin recipe. Friends gave me almond flour from Italy. And I found a recipe on line for almond flour muffins...but not chocolate. So I added a bit of this (cocoa powder, fresh strawberries, honey, walnuts, almond milk....) and deleted a bit of that (lemon zest, dried cranberries) to the recipe I found which consisted of almond flour, eggs, baking soda, sea salt and oil. I've been flying by the seat of my pants with a bit of my italian ancestors whispering in my ear about quantities. But the first batch turned out darn good. Now my plan is to incorporate a new secret ingredient...apple sauce in place of the eggs. While having dinner with a friend the other night at flatbread, the staff was passing around free samples of a new addition to their menu. It was a little muffin/dessert of chocolate heaven. That just happened to be organic, gluten-free, and vegan. They told me the secret was applesauce. So, I'm gonna run with that!

Raven's World-24

Welcome to Wed's with Raven. Here's what she'd like to share today:

"Times are a-changin'. Life is a merry-go-round. We (your animal companions) watch as some of you spin round and round. Going nowhere. Resisting the new energy. The new way of being more in alignment with who you truly are. Not understanding that you can step off the ride at anytime. Step off, and get on a more pleasant ride. Perhaps a water rapid ride. It's quicker and it takes you somewhere... as long as you go with the flow!"

Blessed rain

I can hear all of our new plantings and old plantings soaking up this drink of rain they're getting this morning. And I'm very grateful to mother nature. With a fairly shallow well, I can't always give them all they need from the tap. Hubby gets a break with the rain, too, which he really needs. This being his busy season is true to form as he's been wicked busy. Which is good but for the toll it can take on his body. And Salem is on the mend. They removed his drain yesterday and it all looks good. He has more freedom of movement now but must remain indoors until all the stitches are removed in a couple of weeks. I know you don't know salem but keeping him indoors is no small feat. He's sneaky and very vocal about all these injustices. And raven who is of course a star now that you all enjoy her wed. columns, has decided the rain is a good reason to go back to bed. Our bed. Complete with her head on hubby's pillow

Picture perfect day

Yesterday was a picture perfect day. I accompanied hubby in the morning down to the wholesale nursery that he gets to go to because he's a professional landscaper. It's really one of my favorite places on earth. And is bringing me closer to my ultimate goal of having at least one of every flower known to (wo)man. I brought home some new friends from our trip, namely, hibiscus (rose mallow), beard-tongue for my hummer friends, and some royal candles, too. Then I took the dogs for a trek, sat in the sunshine, weeded the gardens and with hubby doing the digging planted our new friends. And for the icing on the cool cake of a day, in-laws took us out for dinner at the outback (which has one of the only gluten-free menus in the state). I really want to get to herbfest one of these years, but I needed a day in my yard. Tonight, I hope you'll join me in welcoming Jess Steinman to Discovering Nature's Spirit (6-7 pm EST) as a guest. Jess is a good friend and an amazing medium. We will discuss connecting to our loved ones on the other side and offer readings to callers! The really cool thing is that Jess hosts a show on blogtalkradio.com, too. Hers is at 5 and is called Spirit Whispers. So you can listen for two great hours if you so choose!

Fear or love...what will we choose?

I enjoy using Doreen Virtue's 'Daily Guidance from your Angels' book which contains 365 messages from the angels. I'll open to a page at 'random' and see what it has to say to me. I recently opened to page 222 (the angel number for not giving up before the miracle happens) and found a message on healing anger. Doreen/the angels write, "When fiery emotions threaten the sanctity of your relationships, remember that love is always in your midst. Anger can be used as a tool for increasing fear or love, depending on your decision. If you build a case against another person, you erect walls to protect yourself from feeling emotions. Love's approach removes all barriers..." I started to think of how often we do that. Something goes array in a relationship and immediately we think of all the reasons the other person is wrong. We form judgments about that other person looking at them from our own limited perspective. And if we're intuitive we think that we know the whole of someone when perhaps we're only seeing a certain piece through our own lens or filter. And I was thinking back to my more prominent lawyer days when all we did was build cases against people as a matter of course. No wonder it was such a contested system with little room for compromise.

Once bitten...but not shy

Salem should be coming home today from his stay at the vet. Salem is my fiercest hunter cat. He has brought down snakes, chipmonks, birds, moles, a large rat, mice, full grown squirrels...to name a few. He's a pretty small guy for his ability. We acquired Salem when as a wee kitten and out of nowhere he walked out of our woods, climbed up the side of my hubby and perched up on his shoulder. A couple days ago he came out on the not-so-winning side of a battle. We found a large puncture wound to his chest. He kept us up all night tue trying to grab him up. He won that battle making his way to the back of son's closet. The unreachable part of the closet. Yesterday morning we drew him out and the vet fixed him up despite all his protestations. And when he comes home today I expect that the drain in the wound and the cone on his head will just further piss him off. Not to mention the obvious need that he remain inside for quite some time.

Raven's World-23

Thank you so much for your questions for Raven from your comments on her last post. She will answer them in her thoughts today. Both questions involve how to reconnect.

Her first answer is for the first question which came from comment #1 (screen name begins with a 'b'):

"You had to be strong early on. You are still maintaining that place of strength but the need for it has passed. You had to 'grow up' too soon for whatever reason. So that child with wonder and magic in her heart got lost along the way. If you could find ways to reconnect with that child and all the tools she holds, you'd find that you easily reconnect with spirit, too. It's safe now. Start small. Begin by asking the child, 'what would I do/want right now?' And then indulge safely and gently."

Her second answer is to the question from comment #3 (screen name begins with 'h'):

"See the world through the eyes of a child. That will take you there!"

Busy blessings

It was a crazy wonderful busy weekend. Topped off yesterday with brunch at Water's Edge (a gift from friends). After brunch we found a beach down by the shore to play on with a sand bar and sunshine that warmed the water. Then a rush back home to host discovering nature's spirit. Carla Kurt was our guest who shared with us an amazingly cool process of making your own oracle cards!
