Raven's World-63

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"In every situation you have a choice. No matter what. There in lies your power as a human. Uniquely yours. What will you choose? How will you react? How will you guide and hold your own energy? Remember only love is real. If you choose anything else, you have effectively given away your greatest power."

Mother Nature

This is the river that runs behind The Purple Rose. It's really high right now and the waves over the rapids look like the ocean! You can feel the energy back there and see the amazing beauty. And this pic was before the new rainfall today! Mother nature is awesome in her power. And really nothing 'man' does will 'conquer' her. We must respect her and honor her and live in harmony with her while we're here. I was reading last week on one of the on-line news pieces about an island that Bangladesh and India had fought over for quite some time. Because of the rising water levels the island disappeared. All that fighting over nothing. We can learn so much from our 'Mother'.

Raven's World-62

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Understanding. Some of you have lost understanding for others. In the everyday hustle and bustle of your lives, you cannot forget that we are all one. When you are quick to judge another human in a negative light you are effectively closing yourself off from your source light. Judgment separates you from each other and from source. For each living creation is an extension of source. When you honor your differences you begin to recognize light in everyone. And your own light can shine that much brighter, too."

Food inc

I had watched the Oprah show about the movie Food Inc. but it was nothing compared to the actual movie which we watched the other night. All I have to say is organic locally grown EVERYTHING is the way to go. Isn't that what the angels have been saying for so long. And the animals, too. If the light of source is within every living thing, it scares me to see how we treat the animals that sacrifice their lives for us. And the energy we are absorbing. Not to mention all the harmful chemicals and practices as well. And what does that say for how we will then continue to treat each other. I was reading a friend's reiki blog. She was talking about creation without heart and that certainly applies to the larger food companies. And everyone who allows it.

Raven's World-61

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Recently my family planted organic seeds inside to become their garden outside. We (your animal friends and companions) are encouraging all of you to do the same. Save your seeds and do the same next year, and the year after that,... Move into self sustaining. Honor the old ways. Purity of food."

good food

I have been doing quite a bit of experimenting with food. I'm gluten, dairy, soy, caffeine and meat free so eating new and exciting food that is balanced, healthy and good has been quite a journey. I'd love to share some of my own creations and some I've borrowed from others with you. The problem with sharing 'recipes' for me is that I do not always have exact measurements or directions. Many of the dishes we eat evolve from the 'a bit of this and a bit of that' mentality. I'm currently very addicted to avocados. A quick and easy salad involves sliced avocados & sliced tomatoes, olive oil drizzled on top with sea salt and pepper. (that was borrowed from a friend) Guacamole is where it's at. I combine the avocados (mushed well), with finely sliced onions (only a small amount--so it's not overpowering) and a clove of garlic finely sliced. Add some chopped tomatoes and the key ingredient...fresh juice of a lime (about a half of lime per avocado) and you have a great dip that tastes good and is also raw (which is so good for you). Last night I went a bit crazy because we had a friend over who is also vegan and gluten free. Along with a fresh hummus option, I layered a dip with homemade plum salsa, re fried beans, and guacamole with some fresh green onions and olives on top. (this dip was stolen from a friend who brought it to our recent 'girls' night/movie night'...she added a layer of vegan sour cream...but that has soy so I excluded it). Use healthy organic corn chips and you have a great meal...veggies, fruit and protein.

Raven's World-60

Here is what Raven would like to share today:
"In the changing of the seasons, you can harmonize with nature. Coming is the time to plant seeds. Seeds of your dreams that you nurture and watch grow. You see new colors and new life emerging. The light returns more fully illuminating your path more clearly and what the next step may be. To harmonize with nature you must honor and express who you truly are."

Spring

It certainly has been in the air lately, Spring, that is. Even while we still have about 6 inches or so of snow on the ground here at home. I've seen the talk of 'seeds' on other friends' blogs and have started the process of seed starting here with hubby for our garden. I've seen talk on facebook of dropping the layers of clothes and that is warming my heart, too. I am so ready. So, I ask Mother Nature if we will have a nice warm summer to look forward to this year. And her answer...

Raven's World-59

Here's what Raven would like to share today:
"Your worth is already within you. It lies not in the approval of another or in any outside circumstance. It is your birthright. Your birth-light."

Out of the mouth of babes

We were with friends last night. They were telling us the story of how they took their little 4 year old girl snow skiing for the first time. They said she and her dad were riding the chair lift and she looked at him and said, "Daddy, are we going to see God?" It really doesn't get any better than that!
