Son's birthday

Somehow while I wasn't looking a son turned 19 this week. I'm not sure how it happened or where the time went. A lot of it seems like a blur. While there are many pieces that stand out- like putting painted tiny toe prints on t-shirts to surprise dad, his first time on water skis, and teaching him to drive (wasn't that just yesterday?). One thing I know for sure is that my love deepens (for both sons) with each passing year. It feels to me that our relationship continues to evolve, shift and strengthen as he continues to become the man he is meant to be. I stand in excited anticipation to see him at 20, 25, 35...and I wonder at which age will I begin to love and watch over him from the other side!!
