Eye of the storm

On Sunday night's radio show, on astrology, Michael Jernegan, provided us with a wealth of information about the economy and also what jobs would be perfect for each astrological sign. One of things he mentioned was that there's to be a global restructuring of our money system. That for both our nation and ourselves, we need to alter when necessary. If we try to maintain the status quo, we'll get stuck. Change is the word of the time. It seems that the planets according to Michael mesh with the guidance (see special feature section of my website) I've been getting from Spirit. Even, Raven, in her last column her on this blog shared words along the same vane. So, change is inevitable. In all things. But money is a hot button topic for most people. And I get the feeling that there's a divine timing piece that goes along with many people's situations. The trick is to make it to the other side of this. Michael advised self grounding and centering. So that whatever comes your way, you are okay. As I write this Spirit is showing me a storm, the eye of which is always calm. We are to be that eye.

Herding the family

Shaya, my american eskimo, enjoys sleeping in a special nook on the floor of our bedroom. He cannot allow himself the luxury of settling in for the night until all of the family has gone to bed. Each night he takes it upon himself to escort each of us to bed and then come back down to the living room to wait for the next. This is his own self-appointed 'herding' job. One wonders if he was a sheep dog in his past life. A few nights ago hubby was sick. Hubby decided to sleep on the couch in the living room so he wouldn't keep me up all night with his coughing. Well, this messed poor Shaya up. Every few hours shaya would bound down the stairs to the living room to 'see' if hubby was coming yet. As the night went on shaya took to jumping up on top of hubby, looking him in the face to get his attention, then gesturing his puppy head toward the stairs as if to say, "What are you doing? You have to come up to bed!" Needless to say, neither man nor beast got any rest that night.

The star

I know that the calendar is telling me that spring is here. But it's been in the 20's every night. There's still some snow in my yard. I still have layers of blankets to sleep under each night. Yesterday I took some time out of my schedule to sit beside the river that runs behind The Purple Rose. The sun shone, the river flowed and I was warm only because I had three layers on. Still, the angels remind me to have patience. In fact, I pulled the 'star' card for the second morning in a row from my favorite fairy friend's tarot deck. The star shines for HOPE!! Keep the faith. It's coming!

Raven's World-13

The blessed work

My angels have guided me to a new place. Helping out at an area health food store. I enjoy being there in the community. I'm learning so much about eating organic, holistic health alternatives, herbal and homeopathic remedies, and greener cleaning products. I'm meeting new people and even reconnecting with old purple rose customers once again. But yesterday when I was there I understood more fully what my work was. Although I had glimpses all along. An elderly man came into the store at a time when no one else was there. I watched him as he approached me and I began to see him through different eyes. I saw him in his younger days. How handsome and dapper he once was. He began to speak to me and he kept saying that he didn't know why he had come in. That he had just been in two days ago and got what he needed then. He told me he'd just look around. I went back to what I was doing as he wandered aimlessly through the isles. As I expected he made his way back to me repeating once again how he didn't know why he was there. So he began to tell me a story about some medication he was taking. How it didn't agree with his body and he began to explore healthier alternatives. He shared with me that he had just moved to this area about three months prior from out of state. And then it came. That his wife had just died two weeks ago. And those eyes that I was seeing him through returned. Her eyes. I began to see him once again much younger. I saw how they used to go dancing together back in the day. I felt her love for him in such a strong wave that I staggered a bit and my eyes welled up. I knew that he was wandering around a bit lost without her and he needed her energy. Now I know better (this is not my first time) than to just blurt things out about dead relatives being with me (unless you come in for a reading of course). It can scare people. So instead I acted as a channel in a different way. Allowing her love to pour through me. Sending it out to him and allowing him to choose to accept it. After he left the store I let the tears flow because the love that came was overwhelming. For this is the real work, you see. It's not about being famous. It's not about how much you charge. It's about whether you are there. Wherever it is you're supposed to be. Allowing spirit to work through you to hold that space for someone who needs it. It's something we all must do.

Magickal day

I feel magick in the air today. Spring is here. The fairies are dancing. The green world is coming awake and the array of blooming will soon begin. I'm looking forward to our Spring Open house today at The Purple Rose (at noon). I can't wait to see some old friends and meet some new! I even had a dream about it last night and the fairies were having quite a party!

Ted Andrews

I was just reading Ted Andrew's column called 'Nature's Signs' in the New Age Retailer and remembering all the reasons why I enjoy his work. The first experience I had with his work was reading Animal-Speak. This book has now become my bible for reconnecting with the animal world and in the teaching I do now, too. It reminds us that we are all one. That we are interconnected with the animals. I know he does amazing work with wild life rehab and teaching children about the animals. Having a store myself taught me that I could not keep his books on the shelf. Many others were drawn to them, too. I was blessed to be able to see him in person a few years back at a workshop he offered in Farmington, Ct. He began the presentation with a faery meditation which he spoke in Irish brogue. Well, needless to say, away I went! His column, 'nature's signs', reminds us how we can connect seasonally and regularly to the animals. How we should live in harmony with the animals and the cycles and rhythms they follow for a healthier life. At the end of the column he spoke about geese and how they fly in a 'v' formation. He posed the question "Do you know the amazing reason ...why ...one side of the v is always longer than the other?" Then answered with "because there are more geese on the one side than the other." It was a 'laugh out loud' moment for me. I was expecting that he was going to share some deep reason. So far this column has made me laugh and cry (when he spoke about a dog he had that was kidnapped but managed to find its way back home). His words continue to resonate strongly with me and for all that he does I'm grateful.

Grateful Sunday

I'm feeling most grateful today. Yesterday was our "open reading day" at The Purple Rose. Every second Saturday, Annie and I read together. It turned out once again to be a busy, beautiful and meaningful day. In fact, soon we're going to be expanding and offering an "open reading night", too.



Next Saturday(3/21) at noon we're hosting an Open House in honor of Spring at The Purple Rose. I've already gotten some feedback from clients excited to attend. Which is cool and will match our excitement in seeing all of you again! It seems as if it's been a long winter. But it's time to come out and play! We'll be offering tea and treats, some free gifts, and coupons to give out, too. Of course, we still boast metaphysical retail offerings. I know many of you miss our former storefront in Canton. Here's a great opportunity to come in and stock up on some supplies or treat yourself to a special healing gift!

It's a scam

A client yesterday shared with me an experience. Unfortunately it is an experience I hear from many. You visit with a psychic. The psychic tells you that you have a dark entity attached/someone has put a spell on you/you are cursed... Then the psychic tells you that he/she can clear you if you come back and pay an exorbitant additional amount to said psychic. I'm here to tell you that this is a scam. And these charlton's give a bad name to those spiritual counselors and healers out there that do good work. If there is a piece of negativity that is detected during a first session, then that energy worker will aid its release it then and there. The chances that you have been 'cursed' or any other such nonsense is slim to none. Nothing can be done 'to' you. You have free will and choice. You are a powerful being of light and love. This loving energy of source that is you is a powerful repellent for any darkness that anyone could ever wish upon you. If you ever feel like you've been 'slimed' somehow you can easily clear yourself through prayer, calling on the clearing angels, intention or many other clearing techniques available to you at no charge. The bottom line is that if you visit with a psychic, intuitive, medium, reader of any kind, the experience should be loving. Their words should resonate with you. If you feel anything else--get the heck out! These scam artists play on your fears. You should never feel afraid during a session as a result of the words shared by the reader. A good reader receives messages from source energy. From Angels, Spirit guides...that are loving and gentle. Always check in with your own inner wisdom, intuition and common sense to decide whether what the reader has to say is right for you at all. And if it doesn't feel right--dismiss it. Period. You are the best guide for your own life. Do not give your power away to anyone else. No one else knows what's best for you better than you.

Animal Stories

Yesterday morning I had friends over. One friend is allergic to cats. And I have 5 cats milling around. So, Raven, who you all know for her talents her on this blog, took it upon herself to protect this friend from the cats. Somehow Raven knew about the cat allergy and stood guard. She would softly growl a warning and then nudge the cat away if one should get too close.

While Raven enjoys the attention, my other dog, Shaya, prefers to fly low under the radar. But I have to tell this story because it is just too funny. Hubby and I were sitting in our living room. For some unknown 'man' reason hubby started making funny noises with his mouth. These noises then proceeded into 'fart' sounds. Shaya who likes to sleep on top of the sofa like a cat then proceeds to look around and smell his own behind thinking he farted when it was my hubby's crazy mouth sounds all along. Come on, that's funny!!!

Raven's World-11

Here's what Raven would like to share today:

"My family likes to play with the angels. And they like to play with the angel numbers. So when I shared my message for today's column, I heard her excitedly say, "222". I don't work with numbers but it's all the same and means the same. Do not quit right before the miracle happens. Do not give up. We see many of you falling prey to the fear of the time. It is rampant. But you must hold on and give it more time. Build on your faith, surround yourself with positive support, get outside in nature more. Otherwise it will be your disbelief that will bring to you exactly want you would not want."

It takes two

Since both hubby and I work from home from time to time, we have found the need for two computers. He was always on our computer exactly at the time I needed it and vice versa. It never led to any actual fights. But as a sensitive and an intuitive, I can feel more than most. I could feel his energy and hear what was left unsaid. So it was like having 'silent fight'. To stop our uncomfortable impasses, hubby found a compatible computer on ebay. He spent two days swearing and setting it up. But now it is fully functioning so we can both enjoy simultaneous computer time. As I've mentioned many times before, it's truly life's simple pleasures that mean the most. Which reminds me that on our walk the other day, I heard nature's spirits assuring me they were in fact 'waking up'. So I kept the faith that spring was indeed close even as the snow fell yet again yesterday!

Blessed flow

I've mentioned before that my business ebbs and flows. Today we're moving into flow and I'm grateful. I'm blessed with the opportunity to teach Reiki today at The Purple Rose. Reiki is amazing energy to channel and share. The secret is that you get it as you give it! It is universal life force energy that can allow a person to heal on all levels. Then this evening is our radio show where we will be playing with the Angels. Angel reading anyone? Not to mention my gathering excitement that the signs of spring are everywhere. The birds were chirping this morning and a woodpecker was hammering away. The temp says 48 and it's just early morning with an extra hour of sunlight to boot! Even my cats can feel it as they're up early talking and playing, too.

Growing Pains

I remember when I was little. My legs used to ache for no apparent reason. My mother would tell me they were "growing pains." "They're just growing pains." She would say. Her words wouldn't take the pain away but somehow they brought me comfort. As if the pain was supposed to be there but would soon go away. It was part of the process. A sign that things were going according to plan even. Yesterday, I decided to do a meditative journey. My question to spirit was why I seem to be going through so many challenges lately. I was guided to use 'the yew tree path' from 'Celtic spirit meditations' by Mara Freeman. It guides you to meet with an ancestor. As I walked along the path, I heard a familiar voice say, "growing pains." My mother appeared beside me from the other side. "They're just growing pains." She said and she smiled knowingly.

Peaceful morn

I'm struck by the absolute perfection of this morning's moments. I got to sleep late this morning as it is a day off for me. Raven joined me after the husband got up. Son got to sleep late, too. They're doing some standardized tests at school that seniors don't have to take. Husband is off to meet with a fellow landscaping friend. They've decided to combine forces and do some spring advertising together. It warms my heart since I'm always pontificating that there is no such thing as competition. (husband's landscaping site) The sun is shining through my windows and it finally feels like spring is on its way. Raven has talked us into taking the dogs for a walk later through the woods. And tonight is a gathering with friends.

Raven's World-10

Here's what Raven would like to share today:

"It's your hearts. Your heart is the seat of your soul. We (your animal guides and companions) see all that you hold there. In your hearts. All of your diseases, your aches and pains, your financial woes, your discontent and disagreements. It all stems from your disconnection. From source that flows through your hearts. You were meant to relate to each other through love. You were meant to view yourself through loving eyes. Instead you hold onto blame, guilt, resentment, judgment. For others. For yourself. This clogs up your heart. With the coming of Spring, clean and clear your houses. And your hearts. Open just one window in your heart. Let in some fresh air of forgiveness. Then move onto the next."

Future predictions

I am so honored to be able to do the work that I do. Every time I meet a new person or channel for someone I am blessed to learn from Spirit along with my client. Last night on our radio show we had callers who wanted to know the future. What the outcome of a certain situation would be. I am not a reader who believes in giving future predictions per se. I believe we all have free will to make different choices that could change the future outcome as I might see it in the moment I'm doing the reading. Spirit will sometimes give me a 'likely course of events' if the client continues along the same path. But really what I always hear from spirit is that it's the journey itself that's important, not the outcome. There are always lessons for us along the journey. Spirit confirmed this on last night's show. They'd rather give me guidance, messages and support to aid a client's journey rather than a 'certain' prediction of the journey's end. I get nervous sometimes when I hear other readers doing predictions in absolute terms. It feels to me like we're taking the power away from our clients when we do that. After all, we're reading energy. It's not an absolute science. What if our prediction of the outcome is interpreted 'incorrectly' but our client believes it and thus creates it for him/herself? It is a blessing to be able to do this work. And it's also a delicate responsibility. One that I hold dear.

Treasured times

Treasured times have changed so much. Friday night we went out with friends. Saturday night we stayed home. To me both were precious. I recall a time in younger days when I would have gone out all weekend. I don't know if it's getting older or if it is really understanding that I truly enjoy such a wide variety of activity. And that I also enjoy inactivity, too!


Precious to me as well is my ability to work with Annie and present new information to you each week as well as readings to callers on our radio show. Tonight's show is about connecting to the other side. I've also figured out how to move the radio show archive button to this blog, facebook and our website, so you can just click and play our last show if you miss it!
