Raven's World-20

Here's what Raven has to share today:

"We (your animals) are all forgiving. We do not hold grudges. We never feel slighted. Like the source you came from we see only love. We are pure positive representations of the Divine. Here on Earth. We come to you and reflect this for you. We are always seeing you through the eyes of Source, through the eyes of love."

Awareness & a special day

For those of you who have reason to celebrate or be celebrated today I wish you a happy mother's day. In my work I come across many people who find this day to be difficult and sometimes painful. In all the hype they are often forgotten. The ones perhaps who did not have such a good mom. Some moms are abusive or neglectful. The ones who may have lost their mom. Or lost a child. The ones who may not be able to have a child. There are so many out there who are in situations or relationships that may be struggling. And today can be a reminder of that struggle. So it is today I honor all.

These are some ideas we are going to explore further tonight on our radio show (from 6-7 pm est). Our topic is the divine feminine and we will be offering live on-air readings to callers, too!

Random show thoughts

I have a special treat this morning. We have an impromptu breakfast party at our house and the best part is hubby is doing all the cooking!

As this season's shows wind down and the weather warms up for a summer of outdoor activity, I find myself with some random tv thoughts. How about you? For instance, there is really no way that Lost could come up with an ending that would satisfy me. Their plot lines have been so convoluted that even they can't possibly pull it all together no matter what time period they're in. It was interesting to see so many 'hallucination' plot lines. There was House, Boothe on Bones and of course Sam on Supernatural (well, he was withdrawing from demon blood, of course). Medium totally sold out and is paying for it. You know my thoughts on Ghostwhisperer (not diggin it) and for those of us paying attention...Jim was shot before they took advantage of her fertile time. And just a word of advice, when you're remarrying your dead husband you really need to elope! The CSI's have lost their interest for me. It's funny, when I was a prosecutor they just pissed me off because they were so far away from reality. Now I'm uninterested because Gil left and who wants to watch 'all horatio all the time'. Sure, Danny and Lindsey had a baby girl...but the rest...who cares. The mentalist still peaks my interest...NCIS is getting interesting...and I always like the Unit. Does anyone else still hold out hope that Tony is not completely a bad guy on 24? Come on, he could be deep under ferreting out the names in that group...couldn't he...? Is it obvious that I succumbed to far too much tv to get me through the winter?!

Raven's World-19

Good morning everyone. Welcome to Raven's Wed. column. Here's what she'd like to share today:

"The Green World is calling. So many of our human friends are disconnected. The green world, the trees, mother earth, the flowers...carries the spirit of the earth. You are also a part of the spirit of the earth. Technology, work, stress, responsibilities have you tuned out. Many of you are running on autopilot. The end of the day comes and you have no idea how you got there. "Stop and smell the roses" is a wonderful phrase of reminder. Just a quick opportunity to reconnect to that spirit that is you, too. The more you allow spirit to flow through you, the more you will find you have to give to others."

Tower theme

As you may have read from my prior blog posts (ie. love...), every now and then a theme will emerge from my reading practice. A variety of beautiful clients come in for readings, and I find myself saying to them same thing from spirit. Lately the theme has been, 'boy, is the ***t really hitting the fan!' Many are finding that not only is our economy, etc. in chaos mode, but the chaos is infiltrating relationships, home life, and immediate community as well. It's like the tower card in tarot that often depicts lightning striking the top of the tower and the tower falling. It will show people falling out the windows of the tower. And the image can be a metaphor for how many are feeling now. They keep falling behind over teakettle and wonder when it's going to stop. And those of you who know tarot, know that the tower has to fall when it is built on a faulty foundation. Then it is rebuilt on solid ground instead. So that's what spirit is saying, that the old must fall away for the new to be rebuilt. Our structures are outmoded and don't fit anymore. The problem is that because sometimes the old is all we know we fear this change. So we resist. And that just makes things worse. For relationships, spirit points out that your loved ones are 'kindly' reflecting for you all of the old patterns within YOU that need to be acknowledged, healed, loved and shifted. So that you are no longer living from patterns, behaviors, and beliefs that no longer serve you. Over the course of your life, one or more of these phenomena take place from time to time. The problem right now is that the energies are speeding up and it's all happening at the same time. And we are overwhelmed. Spirit understands this. The guides and angels want us to keep an eye to the bigger picture. To the new tower of our life that will be stronger. So you understand the purpose of it all. And do your best to stay grounded, centered and open to the future possibilities that are so bright, they assure us.

Raven's World-18

Good morning everyone. Here's what Raven would like to share today. Remember she loves your comments and questions!

"It matters not what you do. Your career does not define you. Each of us has a divine purpose. A soul calling. Our own unique path to authenticity. It's a journey of a lifetime that begins with a single step. An inner journey that stems from awareness and love. Then it reflects outward into all aspects of our life. Who are you meant to be today? What makes your heart sing. What are your greatest gifts? Notice also what the outer world is reflecting back to you. Are they in fact aspects of yourself? Some you like. Some you may not. But it is all of you. Child of Source. All is filled with light."

Momma told me...

...there'd be days like this. It all started with a 4 year old's birthday party. Tons of little bodies all slathered with suntan lotion for the sunny day in the backyard. To which I am allergic. (the lotion not the sun) So I broke out the very next morning everywhere my clothes didn't cover. Then yesterday I was sitting out front with the dogs drinking a cup of tea. Raven needs to be on a run because she likes to wander. "I just can't help it." She says to me. So I decided to throw a ball for Shaya (who can run free). Totally not thinking about the Raven factor. So I throw it. Shaya gives chase. Raven gives chase. Raven's run clotheslines my ankles. The tea cup falls and pours hot tea all over my midsection. So, I'm soaked, burnt and I can't seem to make my painful ankles move fast enough to help myself. It was a pure comedy of errors. But my body needs a rest now!

Celebrate nature

I cannot help but feel like celebrating the warm sunny, summer like weather we are having! What a treat. And what a wonderful segway into our topic this evening on our radio show (6 pm est). There are spirits that reside throughout nature. They've been known by many names in many cultures. Some call them faeries, some the wee folk. Whatever they are called they are the guardians of all things in the natural world. They are here for many a purpose but to help us lighten up and enjoy the world around us is paramount. Tune in tonight to learn more and have some fun! We will do live on-air readings, too! (call in 718-664-6906) You can sign into blogtalkradio and join us in chat. Or listen on archives if you miss a show.

In honor of Tara

Today marks the two year anniversary of the passing of my beloved purple rose cat, Tara. Here's her story:

For those of you who knew Tara, our Purple Rose store cat, and for those of you who didn’t, I want to take some time to share with you her story.

I met Tara two years ago as I was hanging out our Purple Rose flag. She was making her way across my parking lot without the use of her back legs. She had just been struck crossing Route 44 by a vehicle of some sort. With the help of a neighbor, I made my way with her to my wonderful, kindhearted friend and vet, Dr. Nashe. He indicated that Tara (who told me her name on the way to the vet) had suffered a shattered hip and a broken pelvis. He said there was nothing medically we could do for her. Knowing that I would want to do what was best for her, Dr. Nashe suggested I keep her confined in one room at home. We needed to watch to see if her nerves started functioning again and if she could make normal bodily functions.

Tara had a strong will to live so I knew I could not give up on her. My husband and I kept her isolated in our spare room (although my little cat Willow would sneak in when we opened the door, and she and Tara would talk through the closed door, too). With nothing more than love, good wishes and some Reiki, Tara healed herself completely and after a few months was able to walk normally again.

Once we knew that she was on the mend, my husband and I had further tests done and we discovered that she was positive for feline leukemia. Dr. Nashe warned us that she could not live at home with our other four cats or they would risk being infected, also. So the idea was born to try and keep her at The Purple Rose. My husband was really concerned about what a cat could do to our inventory here. But, I made a deal with her about how we could keep her safe and loved and we never had a problem with any inventory items!!

Many of you looked for the cat when you came into the store. You know how shy and scared she was at first (and for quite some time) of us humans. No one believed we really had a cat because she kept hidden all the time. But as time went on she would come out more and more. You would often find her overhead up in the rafters of our barn building watching the readings, classes and store events with an eagle eye. Many of you were amazed that she could climb up the beams and jump across the rafters not even knowing how far she had come with her legs. You could often look up in the cupola from outside the store and see her looking back at you!

Nothing was sweeter for me then when she let me touch her and hold her. She would spend parts of the day curled up on my lap playing with my necklaces. She even started joining our classes and readings up in the loft on my lap or wandering around everyone.

I know she touched the hearts of many of you. It’s for sure that she’s touched mine. She reminds us of the miracles that exist everyday that only need a little love to bring into being.

Yesterday April 24, 2007, she lost her earthly life to leukemia. She was beautiful, brave and amazing right to her last breath. I’m so blessed to have had her with me these past two years. I’d like to thank all of you who cared so deeply. She keeps telling me from the other side that she’s happy and free and still climbing our rafters!
